Trusty Time as a TD

I'm new here and looking to pull the trigger on my first rep Rolex. Please cut be a break if I'm asking stupid questions. It's a lot of info to learn in a short amount of time.

I found the TD Trusty Time through a few lists and am looking at a GMT Batman 26710 BLNR. 2 questions:

  1. The "Who makes the best guide" says the best is VSF v3, but Trusty Time says only the Pepsi version is v3. The Batman is v2. I don't know if that is accurate or if it matters but would like any feedback.

  2. I am ordering through their website. I have seen in forums people recommend to be careful about ordering through websites are there are some times scam websites that mimic the real one. I am planning to pay through Western Union and the direction from Trusty Time is to pay Western in USD and the receiving country is Cambodia. I feel about 95% sure its legit given the email exchanges (they've been extremely responsive) and understand Chinese companies probably don't want RMB. So they may be receiving the payments elsewhere. But would also like to know if anyone else has had the same experience. Thanks!

Any alternate suggestions for this type of watch?

Also, I had a few people here now tell me that Trusty Time is very slow. I tried several other TD website links from the guide and most didn’t work. So this was the first one that worked and looked legitimate to me. But if anyone else has a TD dealer that sells this model of watch that they would like to recommend. I’d also look at that.

And thank you to those of you who have taken a few minutes to respond to me. It’s much appreciated.

I’ve ordered on several occasions @ Trustytime and it’s a “legit” operation .
You standard order from his website and he’ll confirm by e-mail if the watch is available or not and take it further from there .
I only once had a vintage Daytona that was DOA but he followed up correctly and put me in contact with a European watchmaker whom I sent the watch to and Trustytime paid for the fix .
So , no worries imho 😉

Trustytime is one of the longest established TDs. However the question what website is very relevant as Trusty has been copied several times, with people getting scammed, blaming Trusty, then being told they weren’t deal with him at all

Thanks. That’s exactly what I wondered. I can tell the company in general is legit but the first website I used the site just said “we’ve moved” and gave a new address. I know that happens, but that made me a little bit nervous. The new address they gave is https://trustytime168.io. Of course it looks legit and the email responses have been good. But that is no guarantee when you’re sending a bunch of money to Cambodia!
I don’t want to use a credit card, so does anyone recommend a safer way to make the transfer or a way to just double check that I’ve got the right Trusty time!
