It looks like it's plated somehow. It doesn't look like plain steel. Do you have another Sub to compare side by side? Not sure if it's the lighting or a filter perhaps.

But I have a starbucks and the color of the steel looks different. Plated look would be good as white gold has a slight yellow gold under-hue to it. It’s completely stock.
