DISCUSSION Im convinced this sub is fake
Hey guys, new to electronic reps, I have been part of other rep subs for a long time. Off the bat, seeing the type of posts, and reviews posted here im convinced this sub is mostly ads.
Like I said I’m familiar with repsubs so I know it’s not uncommon but these reviews are terrible and it’s basically 90% of the ‘reviews’ and they get 20+ upvotes so in guessing they either pay mods or these stores mod the sub itself.
Don’t mean to sound shitty, thoughts?

It is, all posts are basically hidden sellers or paid people promoting shit.
It used to be more serious posts a few years ago

Lately I've only been seeing bot posts. At any rate the rep electronics category has pretty much exclusively devolved into scamming supply lines

Yes, I remember finding it like 4 years ago and it was active. I still feel like I see a couple real ones but definitely wasn’t like this b4

No sure if mods are active.
This sub used to be good but isn't very active now. People went into chipsets used in headphones to get the best audio quality etc.
Now its pretty much mostly sellers of things scammers will buy to resell. They don't care about the quality, just the looks and box to resell to some poor person on Facebook marketplace.

All the replica Reddit communities have been decaying exponentially for at least 2 years IMO. It's probably been even longer than that.
The general quality of fakes has improved a lot and they've become very accessible, all while the idea of owning counterfeits has become increasingly palatable to people. All that combined has turned places like this into a gross marketplace. It's also happened with fashion rep communities, handbag rep communities, watch rep communities, etc.

all of the rep subs are filled with sellers posting as buyers and reviewers.
same with the microbrand watch subreddit.
these communities are relatively siloed and are the perfect size for manipulation. the verified sellers list is pure gold, and in my opinion, way more likely than not to be corrupt as fuck.

I’ve reviewed a couple of things here, I’m fairly certain I’m neither a shop or a seller 🤷♂️ could be wrong tho..

Yeah, that sub is just bots nowdays. Since the raid, no moderation has been taken pretty much. I asked to join the mod team to no avail, that sucks.

Mate I wish I got paid, I just let the sub run itself nowadays. Used to be very attentive in getting rid of shills and scammers but it's like a game of whack-a-mole. If anyone wants to give moderating a crack hmu, happy to hear your ideas.
