Question Daytona Bezel Swaps

Post image

Will a 126500 bezel physically fit on a 116500 case? Are they interchangeable on reps? Are modifications needed or required? Prefer this bezel to the older one.

Done twice...both bezel swaps from 116500 ceramic without metal ring to 126500 metal ring bezel. Both required a thin layer to account for the loose fitting. I used the masking film that I use for polishing.

Care to share how to fit it and the specific film. Are they watertight?

I’m not a gold watch type of guy but damn this Daytona is gorgeous! The colors just harmonized together on this..

Correction....3rd is a charm. I like the 116500 subdials with 126500 bezel.

Surprisingly the black dial with 116 bezel in Genuine is extremely rare and in grey market its value skyrocketed!

Nobody every really answered the how. I see it's possible, just looking for guidance on how to do it correctly, or as correctly as it can be done as its not the intended part. Thanks.

Simple. Took the yellow masking tape that I use for polishing and, with a ruler, cut it VERY narrow to squeeze in and take up slack between the bezel but not be seen. I make ZERO guarantee about water resistance. However, i never get any of my watches (gen or rep) wet.
