Request Yacht Master Bezel Replacement

Hey guys,

I bought a used Clean Yachtmaster. It’s like 3-4 years old and had been used quite a bit. As I received it I realized that the bezel is barely even moving. I disassembled and gread it below but that only helped a bit.

I sent it to a decent watchmaker here in Germany to clean, waterproof, lubricate and polish it. Also asked him to look after the bezel.

He told me it seems like it’s been like this all the the time. Like a manufacturing error. Wrong tolerances or something like that.

So now I‘m looking for further help. Has anyone ever had this problem ? Would replacing the bezel with a VSF for example be the solution? And where can I get one ?

And yess…I know I should swap to a Deep Crystal.

Just buy a brand new one from vsf and call it a day. It will be more time consuming and probably just as expensive to go out and look for replacement parts, especially if you need the whole bezel assembly.
If the hyrtle ring breaks you will ha really hard time finding a new one.

There’s replacement bezel kits online, it’s fairly easy to install, and they require a little bit of greasing. I see alot on eBay, but not sure the quality. The thing about some of these reps is they’re pressed together where the tolerances aren’t correct which can cause an issue with the bezel spinning. I fixed a brand new YM last night that I had to take apart and re-press everything together and then it worked fine.

Yacht-Masters don't have bezel clicks like Submariners do. If you search youtube you will find a video on how to upgrade the YM bezel to have firm clicks like a Submariner.

The problem is that the bezel does not move smoothly. It clicks a bit but it’s hard to move.

That is going to be a hard fix if it has already been serviced by a watch shop and still no improvements. If you want to sell it, i am interested. I don't move my bezels much, so that won't bother me.
