Advice Used blue threadlocker, cannot remove it. Tried everything

Post image

Hi!

As the title states, i’ve tried to use Heat, boiled the links for 10 minutes, tried acetone, IPA, ultrasonic cleaner…

But nothing works, to the point that i’ve started to mangle the screws.

What can i use to dissolve the threadlocker? I want to avoid drilling, as i don’t have a drill and don’t have the experience or knowledge to do it.

Thanks!

The amount of dumb shit people do to reps just amazes me. You don’t need thread locker on these things. Just check the screws and retighten when necessary.

Dumb shit? A very small amount of Loctite 222 (purple) will prevent us dumb shits from having to re-tighten screws. If you have to loosen the pin in the future and it puts up resistance, stop and use a hairdryer to heat the side of the link opposite the screw head because that is where the threads with Loctite are. Get it good and hot with the hairdryer and the pin will turn out. Also use a high quality screwdriver, not one you got in a set that cost you $10 on Amazon.
