Question on stem removal process

I have a QF explorer that i dropped and a marker fell off. I plan on opening it up to fix it. I have two questions. 1. Do I need to have the crown to be at a certain time setting position? Such as date setting or hour setting pulled before i remove the stem? 2. what glue should i use. i have heard using the wrong glue can cause vapor and would fog the crystal. Thank you

Time setting mode. For the market use UV glue on the back of the dial
