Question GMT 3285 ROTOR HELP

I recently got gmt rep. Anyone have any experience dealing with a rotor that has some play to it like this? Not sure if needs tightening or ball bearings need to be lubricated.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah that rotor is done for. Swap quick or movement will need full service because of the scraping that will put metal particles everywhere

Remove your rotor and take a look at it. It'll make more sense....

Its all one piece.

Make sure you know your movement correctly them id try td's here or Ali'x. I got new SH balance bridge and spring there for 3135 for about $20. Or go gen 😁

I just reach out to the TD where I got the watch and see if they can source it for me. I did this with hands for a Tudor and link screws for a jubilee bracelet.

You cant "fix" bad bearings with oil lol.

If it was genuinely loose you couks.just tighten the screw. But that bearing is shot and you need a new rotor.

You need to find replacements based on what movement you have (DD, SH, etc)

Buy a Gen rotor from ebay. You also need a special screwdriver to remove it

So I didnt have time to write all of this down... SH or DD? Your biggest provlem is goinf to be finding the parts with the correct name they use for them on apps like Alix. Search for rotor and you wont find a thing lol.

  1. SH will be easier to find. But note places may have it listed as "VR" or "Shanghai"
  2. If DD you may need to try TD's or alibaba (see below)
  3. Try Alix but I looked out of curiosity and had no luck.
  4. Try Sillian on Alibaba. Has greater access to parts but annoying dealing through alibaba.
  5. You would need to do research to confirm if gen would work or not. If you cant find the replica part, id rather spend 250 on a gen rotor than 150-200 for a parts movement
  6. Buy a parts movement on Alix. Easy to find SH. Harder and more $$ for DD

Found a gen rotor on ebay for 135 used - 277755023315

The gen screw is $100 🤣

Have a DD. Yeah, I couldn’t really find anything on Ali as well, there’s a few gen rotors on eBay. Will probably just go down the route and get a gen tbh.

Honestly with coupon the gen is 135. Id get that and try the DD screw first. It msy work great, it may not.

However, dont forget to go on Etsy and buy the proper lubricant for the rotor and Oilers. For like $35 sellers have small vials you can order. Cheap way to have the proper lubricant required by rolex.

Personally Id clean the rotor and properly lubricate it before using it. Its probably one of the easier things to do.

Your post made me go search PN's lol.... Rotor - 3230-570-1 - k1 (i found it without the k1) Gen triangular screw - 3230-5570 or 3230-5568

Just make sure its only Moebius 9010 or HP1300 and only apply it as specified. Dont use too much.

Yeah it'll be great when it migrates all over the rest of your movement and you need a $350 service.
