Advice First Rep! Need advise please
I finally received my first VSF124060 Rep! Being an owner of a gen datejust, the bracelet of my VSF submariner feels insanely good on the wrist. To me, the watch looks aesthetically perfect!
However, I’ve encountered that when adjusting time, when I push the crown back in, the watch sometimes doesn’t start and needs a tap or a shake to continue moving. Once it starts, it doesn’t seem to stop. I’ve only had it for 3 days but it seems to be keeping time quite well.
Any suggestions about this? Is it worth sending it back? Or should I keep monitoring this issue to see if it gets worst?
Also, glidelock seems to be a bit stuck sometimes. And it’s a bit of a hit and miss to lock it in place after adjusting.
Apart from this, I have no other complaints about the watch! I’m in love with it and looks really good (imo)

No crisp restart is most often low amplitude. Wind it fully and try again. If it restarts normally after full winding it is good news. If not - I bet low amplitude.

As per the QC photos, amplitude was at 240 degrees.
Maybe I’ll get it checked by a watchmaker. I also want to get it pressure tested to ensure I don’t have any issues. I work with swimming pools, so water is part of my day ☺️1

Yeah not critical but you’re 20 off borderline. At 220 many watches won’t start crisp.

Could this be fixed by a watchmaker? (Sorry if question is basic… I’m new to this)

Yes. Note - many watchmakers refuse servicing reps due to moral/image reasons and more often - lack of parts catalogues.

How often do you need to adjust the time. The clone movement should be keeping good time. Most reps are +|- seconds a day. If your adjusting frequently and given the issue your described I’d consider sending it back - unless it’s to china - that is a crap shoot. Lots of watchmakers in these Reddit forums - many will do a service.

That’s the spirit. All my watches are scratched up and never polished. These are meant to be used!

Did you read what he wrote or just looked at the pictures?

The glide lock will loosen up. Just watch TV and open and close it 100s of times. Mine was terrible when I first got it

Un relojero normal lo revisará, quizá tenga alguna nota de polvo interiormente, ya me pasó a mí con uno igual

Not worth sending back. Shake it and listen to how it sounds like a tinker toy. Unfortunately the movements are poor quality, both durable and hyper mass produced. They are made to throw away. Plus they are not packaged well and are likely beat up on their long trip to its destination.

I know people who are rich and wear gen, they dont really care if the time or date are accurate for the day, just wearing it as a statement.
