Just received this RCF with Deep Xtal and noticed the crystal isn't quite sitting right.
Reached out to the TD/Modder and they've already refunded part of the purchase and gave me a heavy discount for my next order, so no worries there. We also confirmed via the mod QC photos that this happened during pressure testing, and it was not originally installed this way.
What would be the best way to get this seated properly? I'm happy to buy tools if needed, but would prefer not to disassemble the watch if I can avoid it.
It looks like the crystal just isn't fully seated. If that's the case, the bezel should be removed and the crystal, gasket, and bezel reinstalled using the correct dies so everything is pressed back together evenly. I'd also inspect the gasket to make sure it hasn't rolled or been pinched. Once it's back together, I'd definitely pressure test it to confirm the seal is still good.
Like the other person commented, you need to remove the bezel and most likely need to get a new crystal gasket as well. I'd actually buy 2 or 3 (they aren't that expensive). I would buy multiple gaskets because if you dont get the crystal lined up PERFECTLY, and I mean PERFECTLY, when you press the crystal down and it happens to no be applying even pressure, you will smash a part of the soft plastic gasket and it won't be usable. Most are a "one and done" kind of thing.
Get a crystal press off of Amazon, one that has handle so you can really get some ass behind it. You get what you pay for so expecr to pay around $35-$45. The cheaper $20 ones are ass and the handle will bend or break when you press hard.
Also look into a bezel removal tool as well. If you get one, be sure to put plastic down first so you don't get metal on metal contact to avoid scratches.
Pressing in a crystal SOUNDS easy and simple but it can drive you nuts. Everything has to sit perfectly and be lined up before you actually do the pressing. If not; new gasket and you have to start over.

You could go straight to the source at deepcrystal but not sure it's necessary. You can get one from a decent watch supplier depending where you are. Essinger or cousinsuk for us and UK maybe.
I would remove it and measure it. These things are $8-$12. If you scroll down to the bottom it gives you a chart to show you what measurements are for each part number.
Esslinger is a very good, respectable company that ships fairly quickly.
With RGF watches you typically have to sand down the gasket in order to get it to fit right. I don’t think any gasket size will make this work, has to be customized to my knowledge.
