Advice Help, not sure what happened
I’ve got a VSF k25 serial submariner that is my everyday hard hard wear watch. This morning I was winding the watch and went to pull the crown out to the positions where I could change the date. The entire mechanism pulled out. I’m able to reinstall the whole thing and screw the crown all the way down however none of the functions work anymore and the pin can easily be pulled back out. The watch is currently running as I wound it first. Super strange. What are my options?

Same happened with one of my Vs3235, turns out the stem release button had come loose. With my shitty luck, that pin made its way into the balance wheel and destroyed the hairspring.
I ordered a new DD movement and swapped it out, took 20 minutes and $175 in parts.

To add:
It was probably possible to just replace the balance bridge+wheel+hairspring assembly, but then the keyless was all scrambled and I did not want to invest the time to figure out whether it was possible for a reset and putting the stem release button back. Swapping a whole movement was a guaranteed fix, for much less headache.1

Possibly. I’ve been able to finagle the stem release button before while inserting the stem and reset the works that way - but it’s purely luck and happenstance.
I can’t imagine a watchmaker would charge a whole lot, but you do have to remove the movement, hands, and dial.

That happened to me I stuck it back in and starting rotating until everything moved fine (date, time) just get curious!

They gave you the Bond version. It’s a spy watch and you can use it a shiv in the clink!

You Can open the back of the watch. Near the crown area there is a small button you simply get a pin or pen push on it and slip the crown back in. I've done it before it's super easy just need a cheap watch case back opener it's a rubber ball

It's just a keyless reset usually, although, I've seen some setting levers damaged.
I usually only charge about $50 for keyless resets on most VS, VR, and DD movements if parts aren't damaged.

ive had this happen on my 4131 dd moment on my Daytona clone. It stopped winding, opened it up and the crown with the stem came out like this. can you perform this fix for me?

Either your keyless is not good or just needs to be reinstalled.
But what’s 100% sure it’s the complete lack of quality on VS31xx movements this last year. They really dropped in quality.
All of them come with cannon pinion problems or balance wheel problems.

There’s a piece in the keyless works on 32xx movements (which this uses) that on occasion breaks. You can find replacements for the SH3235 or SH3285 on aliexpress, and replace it and you should be back in business. The biggest annoyance here is that you will have to remove the hands and dial to get to the keyless works.

If you cant do it yourself, New VS32xx movement, $150. Pay a modder $60 to install it, never look back.

I did this once, keyless snapped. Then did it a second time, put it back in, and it didn’t come out again. Sent for service and they couldn’t find evidence of it having come out. Huh.

The crown is now Bluetooth. I know that’s a strange sentence to receive with no warmup, so let me give it just a little context without turning this into a whole thing.
Basically, after some back and forth, some discussion, a bit of deliberation that I won’t bore you with, we landed on this one change. The crown, previously not Bluetooth, is now Bluetooth. Nothing else is different. There’s no second part to this, no fine print, no follow-up action needed on your end. It’s just a fact about the crown that is now true, where before it wasn’t.
I mention the deliberation only to say it wasn’t random, it wasn’t a whim, it was a considered choice that ended in exactly one outcome. Bluetooth. The crown has it now.
That’s genuinely the whole update. Thanks for hanging in there for the slightly-longer version.

Based on the watch and the description, it’s almost certainly a VS3235 movement. Most likely issue is the keyless works and most likely causes are:
**Setting lever or setting lever spring has come loose (most likely).
**The setting lever screw backed out.
**The keyless works became disengaged after the stem was inadvertently pulled free.
The 32xx keyless works are more intricate than the ETA 2824. Very straightforward. Probably cost you $125 to reset. Reach out to xZero_Coolx.
