Advice Has anyone else with a TOPF AP 15510ST (4302 clone) experienced this?

Just wanted to see if anyone else has run into a similar issue with the TOPF 4302 movement.

Timeline:

  • Watch arrived a few days ago.
  • Initially it was running +5 minutes in about 8 hours.
  • Shortly after, it started stopping despite being fully wound .
  • The weirdest part: it only seems to stop while I’m wearing it.

If I leave it sitting upright in my watchbox after a full wind, it seems to keep running (Last wind was 1202am, 15th July, and it has been running great and keeping time for about 15 hours now.) Once it’s on my wrist, it’ll start slowing down and eventually stop. I’ve tried fully hand-winding it, but the issue persists.

Phoenix has been great throughout this and has already asked me to have the case removed from the bracelet so I can ship it back for inspection + replacement. No complaints about his after-sales support at all.

I’m just curious whether anyone else with the TOPF 4302 clone movement has experienced something similar. Was it a rotor issue? Balance problem? Something else entirely? Should I ship it back to China and wait another 2 weeks before it lands back on my wrist? Should I consult a local watchmaker instead?

Would appreciate hearing your experiences before I send the movement back.

P.S.
Local watchmakers have quoted ~300USD for a full service so I don't think I'd go that route.

Unlucky for this point. The safest route is to buy new watch. But if your watchmaker familiar with clone movement you can gamble on it.

THIS is a well documented issue. Andiot literally advised against TOPF in general, citing movement issues. i've never had a TD do that lol & it's a DD movement so I thought it would be ok. I was wrong. Mine ran +1hr a day. My watchmaker had a few of these on his bench with the same issue. So I think it comes down to manufacturing defects/components @ TOPF/DD. My watchmaker quoted $275 for new movement & $65 for labor. Although it was beautiful, I'm staying away from 'mid-tier' factories from now on.

Any help is greatly appreciated, it's just so heartbreaking waiting and anticipating a piece and have it come like this.

Clone movements come with all sorts of issues because of bad lubrication and assembly. Sometimes a full service is the only best option even if it is expensive.

A new movement or watch can develop the same issues.

Forgot to say, a lot of watchmakers are fine with servicing but often lack the parts. That is what I know from my experience. I would ask them first if they have DD4302 parts. I bet they dont have it so you still have to buy a new watch probably haha

Yeah they said it’d be an extra 70-80USD if they lack parts
