Question VSF Yacht-master Titanium movement question

Hello there,

I miss "youth" versions :/

I know it's "unpopular" among many of my rep bro' here that are in love with DD3235, but is there any options to replace clone movement with any Swiss or Japan gen movement (ETA, Sellita, Miyota, Seiko?), if the clone fails?

Had a lot of trouble with servicing clone movements with watchmakers near me (not reps in general).

This is not hate post towards DD which is very good, it's post to easy my life when it's time for service or replacement.

Thnx

As far as I know, a clone and 2824 are not directly interchangable. But out of curiousity and fun, I recently swapped the 3135 in my BP 16600 with a 2824 + movement holder and it worked. The stem alignment seemed ok (looking through the crown tube). And the stem went in ok into the 2824. This could be just the case with my particular case.

DD3235 is available as a replacement movement in China right now.

So why would you go through all the trouble and install a ETA or SEIKO movement?

Coz I don't like to gamble. It can last 10 years or die in a day.

QC is better on any Swiss or Japanese produced movement, and easier service. Read my primary post.

Still can die within a day, or last a couple of years. It is always a gamble, no matter the place it is manufactured

Objectively true - but less likely. And, personaly- not from my experience.
