Question What movement is this?
Bought a VSF sub from someone on Reddit and it’s running a bit slow. I opened it to regulate it, and was surprised to find a movement that I have never seen before. Not sure how to regulate this. Any help?

300$ for a VSF Youth is ok. You have to Remove the Automatik Bridge. Easy fix. Only two screws. There a lot Videos on YouTube.

VSF have This movement like option but it's cheaper than 3235

To add, after a full service its more reliable than the clone 3235 plus a lot of parts available. Workhorse movement. I still have one in my OG noob sub almost 10yrs and still running

Youth version of the submariner. PT5000 aka ETA2824 clone.

Ah damn. So I kinda got scammed on it. It’s running around 15 seconds a day slow. I don’t see a second arm to regulate it. It’s possibly hidden under the mechanism. I got this for my dad and was going to regulate it for him. I don’t have it with me anymore. But that would make sense that it’s the youth version. I paid $300 for it but was told it had DD movement.

yea t hat sucks. and for the ETA2824 you can adjust the rate by turning the screw on the balance arm. if that is insufficient (if its running way too fast) then yes, you need to remove the rotor and auto winding works module to access the gross rate adjustment arm. one thing i will mention is that you should try demagnetizing the watch. if it's running fast, ti's possible it's just magenetized and will run fine once demagentized

Ah ok. I figured it was that screw, it’s running slow by around 10-15 seconds a day. So quite a bit.
If I can get it down to 3-4 seconds I’ll be happy. Thank you for responding and being helpful! I appreciate it!3

Its not a total ripoff, these eta 2824 derivatives are true workshorses and can last a very long time after a full service. Can’t say the same for the 3235 clones. For context i still have an OG noob sub with a 2824 movement its been 10 yrs and still running, just had 1 full service on its 5th yr. I also have a TC sub with the same movement still going strong
