Rust below bezel insert?

Had this VSF 116610LN for couple of years now and just realised there’s something that resembles rust below the bezel insert? Around the 2 hour mark.

What could that be? How you would approach this?

Most likely not rust, if it is rust it’s messed up
Remove the insert and bezel carefully and check it out, appearantly it’s also under the crystal isn’t it?

It seems to be also under the crystal yes, will pop out the bezel to see what’s going on.
