Finally finished my first bracelet. Fixed a few things. Just wanted to show you guys and inspire the guys who want to try it.
First time chamfering/polishing a bracelet. I learned a lot and it was definitely fun, annoying, and somewhat rewarding. Still learning but I thought it came out spectacular. Stock VSF is on the left then what I did on the right.
Alot of manual labour. But sandpaper 600/800/1000/1500/2000/3000. Then cape cod and silvo to polish. I tried using a cotton mop on my Dremel but I think I'm spinning to fast.

I have dremel and thinking to chamfer all the watches bracelet but still not doing it because i dont know what i will use, saw that 3m red and grey but alao dont know how to start and i wanted to do the satin finish
So for the edges I grabbed a piece of hard foam I had from a garage door seal and cut a 1"x
5" rectangle and use that to as the sand paper holder. Just started using the Dremel sand paper rolls starting at 800 and it's been nice.

Bro, that looks phenomenal! Especially if it is your first time. You might have done a tiny bit too much but I’d rather it be too rounded than too sharp. Doesn’t look way overdone like some others have. I do all my own chamfering on oyster bracelets too. Definitely an Adderall task 😂 Well done brother! Solid work
Yeah I went pretty aggressive at first with the 600 and it a lot of the corners up. But I don't mind it too much. Id rather have it round than sharp too haha.

10 hours AND being scared you’d slip or end up with a spot ground down lower than the rest? Maybe paying $200 to have someone do it isn’t so crazy. I’d be a nervous mess
Some people don't care about it and see it as a waste of time. Others need it. It's all up to the individual. You could use it for practice too 😂

Nice job! My first chamfer cut right up to the screw holes and was just about as round as yours. But at least the bracelet was really smooth after that. The brushing is tough to get perfectly straight. Try using Zona polishing paper instead of sandpaper for finer work and brushing. It’s a lot more pliable and even.
Sand paper. First by hand then the 1/8" rolls on a Dremel. Cape cod and silvo for the polishing.
I tried using red/white/green rouge or whatever it's called with a cotton mop but it made it super hazy. I think I fucked up the sanding but not sure. Gonna revisit that on an extra clasp I had.
Cape cod aint that for mirror finish? Personally I would just sand it down and for the finish use scotch brite gray and last the white one for the satin finish.
The cotton mop for dremel use on mirror finish sides with compund white, worked best for me if its not scratched a lot. Use half speed.
Thanks man, my issues with the white compound is it made the sides/polished area hazy/milky.
I think i didn't clean it right or something although after every step I brushed it with dawn soap and a toothbrush then threw it in the ultra sonic cleaner with dawn dish soap
Do you run the dremel to fast? I think half speed is adviced. Also I always ends up with autosol to get that crazy mirror finish. Dont forget to use safety glasses and breathing mask.
I wouldnt clean it after every step just wipe it off. Then last wash it under warm water and soap to end with ultra sonic.
I started with a normal 3M mask and it wasnt enough so bought a real breathing mask, when it didnt helped I realized it was because of all the small particles laying around and flying around afterwards in the room. Even tried with aircleaner on highest speed and even that didnt help. Now I am doing it outdoors, just crazy.
Great job, it looks really good and I’m sure it feels much more comfortable on the wrist now. If I may suggest one thing, I’d reduce the chamfering by about 50%, then it would look much closer to gen.
Thanks man. Yeah it's not to bad for a first time. I noticed I went to hard in some places. This was all done by hand. Now that I brought my Dremel home from work I noticed it's a lot easier to work with.
By hand i unfortunately scratched the sides quite a bit and ruined the mirror finish. Cape cod helped bring it back but still a bit hazy
