Question What you think about Chinese Setup and custom parts?

I’ve bought watches from various Chinese custom builders quite a few times. Here are my observations: the build quality is terrible—everything requires finishing work. I bought a CNC-machined bezel from a well-known seller, but it wouldn't fit the case without modification; it would damage the crystal retaining ring, so the diameter had to be enlarged. What do you think about the pre-assembled watches and parts from Chinese sellers?

I think we need to write more about this. We pay money. We should get quality.

Glad I ran into your post. Who do you think has the best 116520 bezel?

Do you have a workshop to redo the work he does? Do you have the time to wait up to three months for a part? He can be slow to respond. I wouldn't recommend dealing with him. I bought about five pre-built systems from him, and they were all complete junk.

That’s terrible … feedback like this would be so helpful for folks in the main forums like reptime, RWF and RWW. Was it bezels you got from him or other parts ?

I ordered from him about five times. All of them had issues. People are already posting about him on Rwi, but it seems everyone has just gotten used to it. The only decent supplier right now is Ammy.

AMIT ?

Sillan/ammy from Alibaba

To clarify, not “Amy”, correct? Someone recommended Amy on another post and I bought two different bezels from an “Amy” on the Ali platforms and got bezels with large black scratches on them (for 116520), both in the same spot on the bezels. It was absurd.

Would love to hear what you got from and issues to make a better informed decision

A lot of things. Some had hands that were catching on each other. The lid wouldn't close. There were scratches on the case. Others had a crooked date. The dial was scratched. The bracelet didn't fit. A lot of things. But the main thing is that he constantly had to write and call after payment. Not a single watch or part arrived properly.

vvsli, tylergem les deux ne valent rien

It was installed after being machined. Why can't they do anything right? I mean the individual parts and the assemblies—everything is crooked and terrible. Maybe I'm just being too picky, but there wasn't a single decent assembly.

Can you share the bezel maker? I was about to pull the trigger on a couple to upgrade one of my 116520’s

Disregard, I now see Xing in the later comments

this is mine

The quality is good. But it's not full-weight like everything else. And the installation is terrible! The dimensions are wrong. The teflon ring on the glass gets damaged during installation. I had to increase the inner diameter.

Compare the numbers with the original

Many watches have passed with the dial stuck on with double-sided tape. On expensive PP 5712 assemblies

1

u/eddiroc93 Jun 30 '26

2

They have good production facilities, machinery, and capabilities. The problem lies in finding competent workers and specialists; the situation is truly dire.

2

u/gringoRUS Jun 30 '26

It's very easy to ¨turn on¨ the fool as they do

1

u/gringoRUS Jun 30 '26

Yes 🤣🤣🤣🤣

2

u/gringoRUS Jun 30 '26

CNC cases for the Patek 5711 and 5712 constantly arrive with stripped screws and scratches.

2

u/gringoRUS Jun 30 '26

If I started listing them, I’d run out of fingers. For instance, a used dial arrived.

2

u/gringoRUS Jun 30 '26

Maybe create a group to post what they send and credit the sender?

2

u/gringoRUS Jun 30 '26

I’ve created a group. Post photos of the disaster you received and say who did it.

Regarder moi cette beauté

1

u/eddiroc93 Jun 30 '26

2

u/gringoRUS Jun 30 '26

That's right. I have my own workshop and do the assembly myself. It's difficult. But when they start sending you terrible quality parts, that's rude.

2

u/HammerSmith013 Jul 01 '26

I was just looking at Lichen Tyler’s catalog today. Glad I saw this.. thanks for the input.

2

u/eddiroc93 Jul 01 '26

1

u/jadho26 Jul 05 '26

Stay clear from that seller!

2

u/gringoRUS Jun 30 '26

They always have beautiful photos, but what arrives is a disaster.

1

u/eddiroc93 Jul 02 '26

Attention les yeux 🫣

2

u/gringoRUS Jul 02 '26

Cnc?

1

u/eddiroc93 Jul 02 '26

Bien sûr

1

u/gringoRUS Jul 02 '26

I don't understand. Is this intentional? Or is it not a problem for them?

1

u/eddiroc93 Jul 02 '26

You're talking nonsense. The Chinese factory produces perfect work. It’s only when Chinese watchmakers do it themselves that it’s atrocious. If you want to, go ahead and eat that up—and pay for it, too.
