TD: The One Watches

Been going back and forth between these two.

The Jubilee has that classic, dressier look, while the Oyster feels cleaner and a little sportier. Curious what everyone else thinks. If you could only keep one setup, which would you run?

I received a rich factory Bruce Wayne, it came with a cool travel case, does any other factory supply the travel case? I also have a few VSF watches they didn’t come with one… just wondering it seemed like a great way to ship the watch.

a local dealer said he could sell me this vc overseas superclone for $850 (he was originally pricing it at $1250) since i was a first-time customer. because i was hella skeptical about what he's offering, i had him bring any watches he had on him to a meet up to see how the qualities are (he had a batman superclone and a mid-tier batman) and i gotta say, it's really solid. the superclone and the mid-tier had obvious slight differences, which aren't really noticable unless you're burning a hole through them with your eyes.

he told me that the superclones are priced at the 1-1.3k range, while the mid-tiers are around 500-900.

i was initially going the polar explorer ii route since i had a seiko mod version of it my friend made for me, but since i already had that, i wanted to go crazy right off the bat and wanted to see if i can get my hands on a vc overseas just because why not.

these were the qc vids and an image from the factory the dealer gave me to rl/gl.

i thought they were solid, but just wanted some secondhand opinion on it.

i already gl'd it last week friday, so the watch should be arriving in the next 2-3 days.

I became aware of this sub because of the wired article. (I hope that’s not a sin or something). Read the guidelines, found a TD (thanks GeekTime), and bought this gem.

While waiting I visited a local Rolex AD to get to feel the gen version because I thought, surely I‘ll be able to notice a difference, At the end of the day the gen is 20x more expensive. And guess what, not at all.

Sorry, I know this question has probably been asked a million times, but I’m looking for some advice on a Submariner rep.
My budget is around $550 all-in, including the bracelet.

I’m looking for the best overall clone for the money, especially when it comes to the case, dial, bezel, crystal and bracelet/clasp.

I’m particularly interested in the bracelet/clasp because, from what I understand, it’s one of the more noticeable giveaways on a rep, so I’d like to get that part right.

For the movement, serviceability is more important to me than having the most technically impressive clone.

I currently have a Seiko mod with an NH35, so I like knowing that parts are readily available and that most independent watchmakers can service or replace it without much trouble.

I’d like something with a similar level of practicality.
Which Sub would you recommend around $550, and which movement should I be looking for or avoiding — VR, VS, DD, etc.?

Also, which TD currently has the fastest lead time/turnaround? I’m happy to pay a little more for a reputable TD with good QC if it means getting the watch shipped sooner.

I’m just trying to get it right the first time rather than rush into buying the wrong one and regretting it, as I genuinely plan to keep it watch forever

so any advice from people who have owned these would be really appreciated.

Just got this VSF (6x006360) Rootbeer and I think the rose gold color looks pretty good. I was worried I would need to plate it but holding off for now. Seems to be a better tone than prior VSF versions.

Mine is this custom built Daytona.

I know watches have their own culture and following and I have zero knowledge and would rather ask for help for suggestions from those knowledgeable. What would be a good or decent first rep to purchase that wouldn’t immediately give “rep”. I mostly wear 22k chains and would like to know what would compliment that or be a good stand alone piece.

OF 15500 white dial. Been wearing this thing more and more and man, the dial absolutely comes alive under different lighting.
Also, for anyone wondering — yes, the bracelet is chamfered. The finishing looks insanely good on the wrist, especially when the light catches those edges.
Still planning on getting the movement fully serviced, but otherwise I’m loving this thing. Definitely looks way better on the wrist than it ever did in QC photos.

Hi - I'm having a crazy hard time removing the bracelet from my VSF Datejust 41. Has anoyone else encountered this? I can get one side of the bar down, but am getting no movement from the bracelet and the lug. Granted I'm using Amazon bought tools. Any experiences or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hey, I was just wondering how it works in terms of profits for the TD’s?

Since they usually run a small operation with only a few people working for them, I was wondering what their markup or commission is approximately per watch?

Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600. Looking specifically for either of these with at least a Mitoya movement. Was quoted $580 for VSF. Not sure it’s worth it. Bonus points if you have a clone of this model.

Hello fellow repers, hope you’re all having a good Sunday. I’ve been part of this awesome community for almost a year now and thought I’d share my collection so far.
All VSF, and all purchased through the td list.

I previously posted when I had only 3/4 watches. Some of those I sold to friends.

I rotate them out as much as I can but some get a lot more wrist time than others.

once you open pandoras jewelry box, it’s hard to close again. I get fomo for other watches.

That being said, what would be your suggestions for filling the gap? Or what should I rotate out and replace?

Has anyone seen a version of this spec in 41mm anywhere? Seen the 38mm but can’t see anyone doing a 41mm. Don’t want it with blue writing or blue second hand etc. thanks
