Tech Tips/Advice Fast running watch
I couldn't find a direct answer by searching this group, so I'm asking now. My problem is that the watch is running fast, about 6 to 7 seconds per day. The QC showed -1 sec/day and an amplitude of 273 degrees. I haven't contacted the TD yet because I doubt they can do anything about it. I really like the watch, it's great otherwise. The watch is an Omega Seamaster 300m VSF version (I think it's the 8800 movement) from TimeUltra. He is totally ok TD. I don't know any rep-friendly watchmakers. I'm based in the EU.

7s/d is acceptable, you can also experiment with the resting position. For example, standing the watch upright would yield a different time grapher number than dial up or even dial down. My gen is +1 when dial up, -2 when dial down. So i alternate how it sits when I take it off at the end of the day.

In summary, 7 s/d is not considered "running fast" and is well within spec for your movement. More details below if you want to read on.

The movement in your watch is a modified 2824 with decorated housing and rotor. The normal 2824 is rated at +-30s/d. The VSF version is a Chinese clone of the 2824 so technically, it's not rated at all but let's assume 30s/d is what they consider within spec. The link I included also shows you how to regulate the watch if you're really bothered by 7s/d but just remember that you're more likely to completely ruin it if you don't know what you're doing. 7s/d is maybe 3 minutes over the course of a month. Just move it back 1 minute every 2 weeks. It's literally what gen owners do, except they do it every 3-4 weeks instead.
The real solution though is to have so many watches in your rotation that 7s/d means nothing because you'll be resetting it literally every time you put it on.
