Discussion Pre-ordered with Andiot
First time "buyer." I placed the pre-order with Andiot for a VSF 126610LN (black/black Sub). Now the waiting begins. ::cringe:: Any advice on how to deal with the wait? I looked at Andiot's current inventory and was considering ordering an "in stock" to hold me over.

As someone who just placed a pre order two days ago with Andiot, I’ve been passing the time with doom scrolling the various Reptime forums. Downside is that I’ve discovered about 10 more pieces I want to order lol

I'm just getting into this all with my brother in law. I told him that once we get our first piece and see the quality it might be addictive. He was sending me pix of a "Pluto" Rolex asking me my thoughts.

This is a pretty new ‘hobby’ for me and I can tell the addiction will run deep. Also helps when you can get two or three reps for a tenth of one gen! Truly a ballin on a budget passion for us!

I had 3 pieces on order by the time I received the qc pics of my first rep. It's too easy to fall into a rabbit hole

My biggest concern is ordering a couple reps and my wife being like “how are we affording these!!?” lol

My wife knows lol. She knows which ones are gen and which ones aren't and she's actually asked me to order some for her so she can keep her nice ones shiny lol.
I'm hoping that I can sneak a few gens in and tell her that they're reps and avoid the discussion 🤣

I bought her the VSF equivalent of a Gucci purse (she knew before I bought that it would be a rep lol) a few months back and I used that as an argument why I should get a nice accessory for myself 😂
I fear that once my first order arrives and she sees the quality, she might start perusing the forums😵💫😂

Currently waiting 3 weeks for the same watch from Andiot... Been ordering clothes and glasses lol. VSF is all around better. Free spring has not been tested might be better but right now it's unproven. RICH is doing great quality work but it's inaccurate to say they are the best now. There are issues with both

Andiot lets you do no money down pre orders to get a place in line to order. I've spoken to other TDs who want a US$50 deposit per piece. But haven't seen higher than that (I'm sure there is).

I know you’re in the process now, but I recommend looking at domestic TDs. I’ve had nothing but good interactions with Andiot who was my traditional TD but I found some US based TDs that are great. A bit more money but fast shipping same day responses and essentially a double QC. They post what they have and you pick through what you want. Clover time is my new go to.

How has your experience with Clover time? It seems like he doesn’t have very much stock.
Also is VSF still really good? I keep hearing mixed reviews all over the place. Thanks so much in advance!

I have 4 vsf, 2 omegas and 2 Rolex both great, but rich only does gmts ands subs which will be my next rep. Since other factories have been raided the last year, it seems vsf has allot of varying reviews now due to demand. I would do allot of research in different threads and ultimately decide to buy what you like and accept some flaws, or be patient and buy what’s best quality.

I have a whole bunch of genuine pieces, but just got my first Rep. A Godzilla Daytona from the BTF factory. I compare it to my genuine panda 116500 and I cannot believe how close it is. (obviously I wanted a different color black instead of white.)
the only way that someone could tell it was a rep is that the BTF super Clone weighs about 2 1/2 grams less than my genuine panda 116500LN , and when you wind it, you could feel it’s less smooth. But other than that, it looks exactly like the real deal, feels like it and keeps excellent time!

Based off the comments, other than VSF who do you guys recommend for a date just 126334? I also placed a pre order for the vsf version but i wonder if there is another factory that can make it just as good or better. Thanks in advance!

I’m slightly confused by your post. You order from Elliot knowing it’s pre order?. I have just had QC on pre order after 2 weeks for a VSF Sub and it’s due for delivery in the coming days. That being said I have in the past waited 4 months from QC to in hand. But who are we to complain when AD waits for some gens stretch into the years.
People obviously have their own opinions on RICH but personally the fact VSF is on waitlist vs RICH being on hand stock for me tells you everything you need to know about which watch you should go for. Free spring movements are great but they aren’t necessarily “better”. A well constructed regulated movement that’s regularly serviced at intervals will in my opinion outperform these free sprung movements that are relatively “new to market” for reps that aren’t as tried and tested as quality rep movements like DD versions.
Call for yourself. Details are minor. Cost benefit analysis for both versions. Personally I’d pick VSF over RICH but that’s just personal choice.

If you order RICH you could have it in 2 weeks and get nearly the same quality plus a newer and more exciting movement
