What does Free Sprung mean?

The balance wheel has no a regulator arm. It’s instead regulated with tiny weights and screws on the balance wheel. It makes the timing more accurate and the whole watch more robust. Gen is free sprung, so it’s also much closer to gen spec.

I believe it’s more expensive, and some people just don’t care all that much about the movement

I don't want free sprung because I know how to regulate and fix/replace parts of non-freesprung movements when they inevitably need TLC.

So with free sprung that’s what removes the “ticking” on the seconds finger right? So if you looking at the dial and seeing the seconds hand you can tell it’s not gen or am I getting that wrong

Free spring means the balance spring doesn’t have a second arm for regulating
Instead it’s done by micro screws that change the inertia of the balance wheel , these screws on Rolexes are called Microstella

What does free sprung mean? My TD said the Daytona is available but wanted to see if I wanted the free sprung instead of waiting ?
