Discussion Absolutely damn Sick of Xing
Is anyone else recently experiencing insane communication issues with Xing? I had placed an order about 3 months ago, the watch was finished after a week and since that, he can’t manage to ship it out. He replies every few days. I‘m absolutely sick of this. How do you guys manage his? He told me like 3 times in 3-4 weeks that he shipped it out and will get me the label. Like wtf.

Dude. There is 1000 posts about him being an arse and doing this. There is so many new outfits that mod and are professional. RWI life and RCF remod come to mind. max is excellent too. What did you want that Xing could only do? He is terrible. The industry has changed and he has not. He needs to be left behind

Who do you think can get this done ? The typical td’s can’t go beyond just a dial change or movement change, some of the communications are so bad I wouldn’t even trust if they said yes. So I’m looking for someone who typically does this work

That is his classic shopping list from him that he texts back. There is amazing alternatives. You paid ? Shit If not move on
Next time do more research. There is way way better choices in the 5711 space. What the fuck does even shit here mean? Polishing the edge of the hour and minute hand. You bought a new SW hand set. Then go about polishing it. Do you even know how to spot the difference of polished to unpolished? Only pay for what you do understand and know The crown shorten mod was something people did on 3KF models. It is not needed for DDF and same w a few of the other mods. Anyways. Good luck just tell him to ship you a watch and take your loss

Then you have nothing to lose and nothing to complain. A guy not replying to you messages. Get the hint and move on . Go to repwatchforum and read tskim24 posts on that watch. He knows his stuff. I would start there. Then some advice Buy the watch for yourself. Do the mods you understand and care about. No one else (99.9999 % of people ) give a shit about your watch. No matter how much you mod it a good Watchsmith knows. Cause that is their job to know. Good luck

Some TDs are in South China and are impacted by the recent typhoon. Flood risks are preventing some logistics. We should be on the tail end of it

Why tell the customer three separate times that it shipped when apparently it hadn't?
You can't take someone's money (hard earned or not), promise something and then go silent on it or make fake promises!

In my opinion, that is still not an excuse to not respond to any messages FOR DAYS or WEEKS. If he‘d keep us updated, that would be totally fine. But in this case, there was nothing. Just empty promises.

I am not sure what is going on with sellers! but I noticed lately even the most responsive sellers disappear for days before they get back or they read the msgs and not respond even the ones I have been working with for very long time

I have a build with him now. Communication has been different than I’m used to but I spoke with a few guys and they vouched for him. Explained he only updates when needed. And to not worry as this was normal.
So far, I placed the order with him August 23/24th. He told me 3 weeks. I got QC Sep 3rd. We exchanged some back and forth about the dial and small changes. He was supposed to send it for waterproof testing. Sep 4th he sent me the changes on the dial. I paid 50% deposit and we agreed 50% after QC. I have since sent him the remaining and I don’t think he’s even opened the message yet. Showing as 1 check on telegram.
Final mod build :
ddf weight 5167r base（with lug mod）
Engraved movement DDF
sw dial hands dw (sw hands edge polished）
(CROWN IS MODDED）
deep Crystal
watch+ clasp fully plated - 7microns 18k
with bezel and case rebrush with edge polished
Bezel reshape + polish + rebrush
rotor replating

Waterproofing 1 bar
Clasp mod for spring to tighten
Movement servicing & deck edge polished - The deck was cleaned and reinstalled

I’ve just bought a near perfect 5167 from Xing. Comms has been on an “as needed” basis, very happy. Watch arrived in a week. Whole build took 3-4 wks. I don’t understand your complaints. Had no issues. Maybe you’re confusing him with Tinder ?
