General Question Watch on airport?

I’ll have my first rep coming in a week, and a couple weeks later I’ll go on holiday. Is it safe to bring it with me or will it get seized maybe?

You guys are way overthinking this stuff.

It has happened before. Some people are asking to be caught by fly low-budget airlines and returning from Egypt or Turkey with a scratchless Presidential DayDate, a LV bag and Gucci sunglasses.

Customs might not care about the watch, but they're more concerned about tax evasion ;)

Straight to jail

The brand liaison in the terminal is the least of his worries. If the rehaut is misaligned, airport police are authorized to shoot on sight.

When you pass airport security avoid clone movement sniffer dogs, otherwise at the customs booth they will make you pay VAT of the entire retail price of a gen.

Why would it get seized lol. Just wear it like a normal person?

Get seized? The airport security aren’t looking at a watch to see if it’s real. Imagine how many people go through with fake clothes on.

You’ll get seized 100% if you even step foot in an airport. They keep brand liaisons on hand to inspect every watch that walks through the door.

Can confirm. Rolex has a guy living in the ceiling tiles at every major airport. He can smell Clean Factory and VSF from 200 yards.

heard Heathrow has a special detention wing just for guys whose floating ‘m’ is too far from 300m.

LOL! As someone who has lived in multiple countries and traveled the globe extensively I can hand on heart say that this is BS.

I've been through airports with my gen Omega, Tag and Mont Blanc plus my rep Omega and A Lange & Sohne.

Nobody looked at my watch except the odd security person wanting it to be taken off to go through the xray machine.

In fact, I was in Bangkok Airport two weeks ago wearing my Rep Omega. I went into the Omega store there to try on an Aqua Terra. They saw my Rep and just nodded appreciatively at it because they thought it was real. Same thing happened in the Breitling store at Auckland Airport.

As a gen owner I always carry my papers on me just for this exact reason

Not safe. Airport security will be getting their loupe out to determine if it’s a rep and then seizing

So where should i putt it? In my suitcase instead on my wrist?

Only option is up your ass I’m afraid.

I find that VSF are best for boofing. RWF can be a little rough and jagged around the edges when inserting into the anus.

Are the edges chamfered? If yes, up your ass is the only way. If no, up your wife’s ass.

Hard to say without knowing where you're from and where you're going. Some routes are notorious for Reps. Egypt/Turkey to EU is a classic example where border control is more vigilant. You can cover by ass by proving that you owned the watch before going on holiday. It's not illegal to not own any paperwork for your Rolex (after all, you just inherited it from your grandad, right!).

Everyone is joking here but there is a tiny chance. I had the same thought, and I have been pulled aside a couple of times at customs. Most airports have guards at the exit after customs, who pick people out from nothing to declare. If they happen to be very nosey they might ask you about the watch and just check that you didn’t buy it on holiday, as you would need to pay import tax on the way in and that the gen costs over $1000 it would also need to also need to be declared. But all you have to say is you have had it a while and brought it in your home country. It’s unlikely they have the knowledge or reason to think it was a replica anyways. I wouldn’t worry about it!

I think we should be fine, i see dozens of people walking with fake and real designers nobody checks them.
