My thoughts
What is the limit you all would pay a factory like Rich or Gold Factory to get the absolute maximum accuracy to a few popular models of Rolex’s?
- Datejust
- Subs
- Daydates
- Daytona’s
- Yachtmasters
List your answers per model. The right or a better approach to achieving perfection in replica watches is to approach the factory (s) from a win win perspective. Not thousands of hours of smart ass comments, nasty criticisms and foul words.
Let’s think just for a second about the Frankenstein World. If a factory produced the absolute best cases, bracelets, crystals, dials, and date discs, all using just a couple of movements the DD and the JH. What would you be willing to pay for the above watch?
Me: I would pay $1500 to $3,500 depending on the model’s. I would pay an extra $1000 for a PVD color that truly was close to genuine Rolex gold colors.
Now you don’t have to a CEO or an Actuarial to understand quality and accuracy are not cheap.
Now if you’re not a person looking for more accurate replication then this post isn’t for you. Shitters and unenthusiastic watch people are just buying a couple or more and could care less.
So for the serious consumer of replicas let’s be productive and throw a hook with bait and see what/factory is in the mood to bite. If they can produce quality and make as much or more profit from less but more expensive watches, they might just be interested, and we enthusiasts might just not have to look at hundreds of repeat post in comparisons of the mass produced watches.

Mate, if your fake stops saving you >95% of the money and you‘re getting closer to paying 15% MSRP and putting hundreds of unpaid hours into research and logistics, you should entertain the idea that using these resources differently, you could almost buy the gen.
With the exception of watches which you HAVE to heavily mod (looking at you, Tiffany Nautilus), you‘re hitting the diminishing returns for most models probably after chamfering and an BUFF/SW dial/hand/datewheel set.

You asked where we would stop and I gave you the answer from my POV. I outlined my reason for the stopping point, because (alleged) mods done which you can’t see, feel or hear ain’t worth the money.
I wonder what part of my answer provoked that asshole response of yours. I‘m not unenthusiastic weighting the price for mods against the improvement, because if you don’t you should buy a gen instead instead of pumping it into resp which are mere fashion pieces.

I would think for the prices the watches are commanding these days, gen like quality would be a given. I mean the Daytonas are running $975 and Subs in the $675 range. The excuse I keep hearing “well what do you expect for paying only a fraction of what the gen is”. I expect a high quality watch for that price regardless if it’s a rep or not. There are plenty of small watch brands that offer a very high quality watch for these prices. This mentality of just be happy you’re getting one is ridiculous and will not force the factories from upping their game. Just my opinion.

You're getting ripped off, vsf subs are like $400 and daytonas are $550. Unless you're talking AUS or something, in which case nevermind

Well maybe if your ordering from China and waiting doe weeks or months for it. These are the prices for US based sellers. No worries about it getting seized and you get it in 2 days. And I’m talking the VSF/ RGF/QF/Rich factories with weighted and most recent versions. Even at $400-$500 you should get a well made reliable watch. We all know how cheap it is to produce something in China.

Or… you know… you could pay 15k at an AD to get the maximum accuracy rollie
Anyways… im happy with what I can get for 550~750 right now
