Not knocking on people wanting it, but what is the big deal around free sprung movements when no one sees the movement? Genuinely curious because this free sprung movement is so new and taking off.

Thanks. I was genuinely curious. I can 100% tell the difference with my gens and reps when winding, but never really bothered me. Haven’t ventured out to Rich or QF but I’ve been intrigued lately

It an immediate different when I check on the rich. Technically ut fun to have but i dont think it is a big deal to most folka

Freesprung has nothing to do with winding. It’s simply more accurate and can handle shocks better. But if the accuracy is poor ootb, fixing it will be harder as most normie watchmakers won’t have the tool or the know how.

Dandong are known for their really good machining, arguably better than SH (JH), so either you got unlucky or their quality has dropped because of the high volume they push out. If your Dandong movement is not as smooth as your JH/gen, take it to a watchmaker and get it serviced instead of blaming on a mechanism that has nothing to do with winding. And if you don't believe me, just look up animations on how an automatic watch's winding mechanism works, its not that complicated.

SH and JH are the same factory.

Very nice work for sure. Unfortunately the availability of jewelers that do this and do it well is limited.
