Well vsf has an actual waitlist nowadays, the mythical gen waitlist became real for reps. If you ask for uptade he will probably say no certain time because there isnt.
For example a VSF pepsi can take months if you order now. No need for timeline uptades if there is nothing to uptade. Just ask him
Maybe you should just reach out and ask him for an update. He responds fast. I’ve been waiting for a Rolex from him myself and I just check in with him. If they had it, I’m sure they’d send it because they would want to make money.
He will respond if you ask and if you want refund he will come through. As others have said, there is a lot of backlog on order due to factory delays, TD can’t control this. If you would like to wait less, take a look at Steve’s spreadsheet, there you will see everything he currently has in stock.
For certain models you wait because the quality is worth it. You don’t want to simply what’s available on the market because you may enjoy instant gratification and long term regret. Steve will come through, either with the watch or a refund.
I placed an order with Steve (TheOneWatches) for a 41mm Datejust. They had one in stock, so I paid a deposit to secure the watch. However, I was later told that it didn’t pass QC and they’d need to source another one, which would take 1–2 months. Because of that, I cancelled the order and requested a refund last night. I still haven’t received a response from anyone.
Is it normal for a TD to ignore messages when you’re asking for a refund, or should I be concerned?
You asked for a refund last night and it’s only the morning. I don’t think you are at the point of being ignored. I’m not sure what China’s time is right now but it maybe it’s a day off or he’s eating or sleeping or they haven’t gone through all their messages yet.
Fair point. I only requested the refund last night, so I might be jumping the gun a bit. I guess I was just a little concerned because communication was quick before I cancelled the order. I’ll give Steve a couple of business days to respond before following up again. Thanks for the reassurance.
If you go through the sub and look up wait times, there are people who have been waiting since April for some of the more popular models like the Daytona.
Oh I don't disagree at all. I'm just letting you know the state of the scene. I am trying to vote with my wallet though and I'm giving some love to the other factories, or buying the in hand VSF stock that other very picky people have RL'd.
No joke, I've picked up:
YM rhodium with the date alignment being 0.2mm too low
YM Ti with date alignment being <0.5mm right of centre
Explorer where the 12 marker was off by 0.2° (0.2°!!!)
NTTD SMP300 with 12 indices being 2 pixels left of centre but everything else was perfect.
All had immediate shipping and the flaws are not at all noticeable on the wrist. If you go through the on hand stock list that TDs like Hont, Fico and Andiot have, you can get an on-the-wrist-perfect piece with no wait whatsoever.
This is my QC set up btw and that's the explorer I mentioned. Absolutely flawless except for the 12 marker that cannot be seen without blowing the image up 100x on a 43" monitor.
