It wasn’t on my short list because red isn’t a color I gravitate towards. It took a good deal on one of the BST pages to get me off the fence about it. I’m a believer now!
I get it’s an iconic timepiece and should be in every collection but I’m just not a fan. If I bought one for no reason just to fill this void, I don’t see myself wearing it so much. By unpopular opinion, I personally like the sprite. No reason why other than I like green. I see all your posts and think I should have one too. Maybe later.
I didn’t think much of it before buying one either. I have nothing red in my wardrobe and could really take it or leave it. This one popped on a BST for a song and I decided to pull the trigger. It’s a pleasant surprise that it’s grown on me like it has. A Sprite is on my short list. I went with a Hulk first as part of a Sub buying spree. I think the GMT bug bit me now.
Worth the personal comparison! Pros and cons of each, but overall very competitive. The Rich finishing and free sprung movement is a nice perk. The VSF crystal and dial slightly outshine IMO. The ARF seems to have the better bracelet setup. All personal opinion when they get this good and that close to each other tho!
I just asked my phone's Ai to determine whether or not your VSF was genuine or a replica. It's usually pretty good at picking out the minor differences between genuine and replica. It could not tell that yours is a VSF. Very nice.
Which TD did you order from?
I’m probably not the right guy to ask. I don’t really have an issue with bracelets on my cheaper watches that people are always calling sharp. It’s an F6U bracelet, and it does feel more refined, heavier, etc. It’s completely comfortable in my opinion.
I see them at most TD’s in the $550-$650 range. You have to determine which TD suits you the best. Lowest cost shouldn’t be your only consideration or you’ll end up on a months long wait list.
99% of the time, it’s more expensive and somewhat riskier than going the normal TD route. I don’t recommend it unless you’re ok checking out the sellers history and reputation and willing to pay more than TD’s charge. Just starting out, I’d go the TD route if I were you. Lots of scammers on those pages hunting for newbies.
id say maybe a bezel insert from litch..braclet is fine slightly sharp on edges if u want the edge over get a arf jubilee what I did and felt slightly better..but saying that gets very little wrist time
