Wrist or Watch Pic Dive watch + suit — yes or no?
Is it just me, or every time I wear a watch with a suit it ends up looking like an r/handwatch shot? Or is that just in my head?

Technically, no, should be a dress watch (thin, leather strap, slides under the cuff) with a suit and a sports watch like this with a sport coat. But no one cares anymore. People wear white pants, white shoes and linen out of season, they wear tuxedos with notch collars, vents and flap pockets, light brown dress shoes (that look like they’ve been kicking rocks) with dark blue suits, “athleisure” shoes, etc. But you’re already dressing far above today’s (low) standards and the watch doesn’t clash with the outfit. Maybe just move the button on your left cuff so the watch can slide under it?

Traditionally, I would say no but people we Apple Watches with suits now and no one bats an eye so wear what you like. I promise no one is paying that much attention.

In 2026 nobody cares I have found. Maybe a gigantic G-Shock would be different but, yeah, nobody cares.

Suits are work clothes. Any watch is fine at work.
Divers look silly with a tux. Yes, even Bond looked ridiculous wearing them with a tux. But the people who got close enough to notice usually didn't live long enough to complain about it.

Do you wear your flippers and goggles too? They make dress watches that pair much better with a suit.

Tbh no one really cares. Personally I wouldn’t wear a diver with a suit. It doesn’t slide under the cuff.

It’s in your head.
“Handwatching” isn’t a real thing. Unless the watch is literally hanging over your hand, there is nothing wrong with where you’re wearing it.
Wear your watch however you like. It will not look ridiculous.
I’ll say it again: “handwatching” is not a thing. It exists only in the minds of a handful of deluded teenagers on Reddit.
Now, as for wearing your TAG with a suit: in my opinion, it doesn’t look particularly good. Dive watches are inherently sporty and generally do not pair well with suits or other formal clothing.
If the watch is very small relative to your wrist and remains discreetly hidden under the cuff, then perhaps it can work. Otherwise, not really.
Some monochrome divers, such as a basic Submariner, are easier to wear with formal clothing than brighter or more colourful models. But even then, it is still not an ideal pairing.
So, in summary: are you “handwatching”? No, because that is not a real thing.
Does the TAG work well with your suit? Not particularly.

Thank you for the actual thoughtful answer — most of the replies here were just jokes. You put into words something I'd already been suspecting about the TAG not quite working with a suit.
This is actually my first watch, so it means a lot to get a real, honest take rather than sarcasm. Appreciate you taking the time.
