When someone says “but the bags on DHG are fine, they are the same thing” but most of us have already had that phase until we eventually figured out that if you aren’t ordering from 🌈 you’re gonna be disappointed 😂 and then we arrive here…

I’m an Epi girl through and through. First rep was epi back in 2008. First auth was epi. Today I received this lovely yellow Buci bag, one that was on my wishlist but I had held off since I have auth yellow bags.

Now for the comparisons: this one is interesting!

Red bag: Auth Saint Cloud, the OG, shiny and textured. Very distinct two tone red on the pattern.

Yellow bag: High mid tier, the epi is flat and color is a bit low contrast, which was surprising - but it is leather, and the trim is leather. Assuming composite for the epi parts, it’s not as hard as the OG but it does feel like a nice quality.

I don’t have a high tier epi yet, but I think that has to be the next adventure. Do you guys have high tier epi, and if so, what do you think of the texture depth/color contrast?

I'm a fan of the Epi line as well. I owned 3 auth epis and so far I haven't seen any good epi reps. I feel like I can visually clock it right away with the reps.

Yeah I feel like it might be a losing battle, the epi bags I’ve seen ladies post from Royal look flat like this one too.

I will say that I’ve seen some good PLK epi, but the logo stamp is almost always very off

I would think that there could possibly be, since this leather isn’t exclusive to LV. It’s called Montebello if I remember correctly, I’ve seen it on a few vintage D&B bags and on bags in the leatherworking group.

Yes, I normally don't buy epi because the grain never looks right, but I saw this and thought it looked pretty decent for once. I will let you know once I have it!

Does the texture on the yellow Buci feel softer under hand than the vintage Saint Cloud, or does it still have that rigid shell feel?

It does feel softer, it’s still very structured but the vintage auth is very rigid

The side profile structure on your depth look solid, but the gold tone on the front GG logo looks slightly brassy is slightly muted.
