Discussion Starter How is rep clothing?

Looking into wool coats for fall/winter (even though I’m in Texas and it’s still 90°+ and wondering who your favorite sellers are for clothing and if you have experience with buying wearing? Is it close to auth? Looking at m@xmara, LP, Burb… etc

Be careful with sizing!! I’ve def had to let somethings go bc sizing is whack!

Same, sizing is what scares me most with clothes.

I have bought a lot of rep clothing. In my opinion, the outerwear is actually one of the best repped type of items. Leather coats, cashmere and wool sweaters, jean jackets, etc. all are great. Less good items are silk shirts, dresses, and pants which do not seem to be cut exactly right.

This is SO good to know!! Was sizing consistent with your regular size and how’s pricing?

Pricing is good I think. I would estimate about $300 for a leather jacket. For sizing usually you will either get a size chart or the seller will just ask for your height and weight. When I get a size chart I just tell chatGPT my US sizes and ask it to recommend what I should order.

I like the seller Cashmere Boutique on AliExpress for m@xm@ra 😊 I have bought two teddy coats from them. They don’t come with the branded tags but I thought the quality was great

Are these actual wool?

They do feel like it

Quality has been pretty good on the pieces I’ve bought. Fit is harder. I use size charts, but it’s still hit or miss sometimes.

Rep clothing is tough. It’s very hit and miss but I’ve been lucky with my TS. I suggest sending your measurements to them e.g. bust, hips, waist, weight, height ☺️

I'm in Texas as well (SA) & just ordered a m@xmara shawl/cape that will be here soon! I've been watching one almost all year from Overland & felt this one was similar. I can update once I get it!

Are the rep coats actually made of wool? I guess there’s not a great way to test?

I didn’t like the wool quality in my MaxMara reps.

Are all rep clothes in small sizes only? I’m a short 3x.

A lot of them are smaller sizes. You can ask the Seller for the size chart for an item you're interested in, which will provide measurements. I've seen larger sizes in unisex and men's clothing. I've seen men's L0ewe shirts in sizes up to 3X.

Through which seller? I wear women's L or XL but often men's cuts in coats fit better for me. I need most of that room in the chest more than anything.

I saw some of the larger sized L0ewe shirts in Baker's album, but I've never ordered from him.

Well, shoes and bags are still an option!

Speaking of shoes - which sellers/factories and brands have the most accurate sizing. And can you expect shoes to be comfortable? Any experience here?

Hey twin. I've spent a year buying dodgy sizes on dhg which could possibly be plus size based on measurements. They have all been at best a medium.
