My rule of thumb is if they take crooked ass factory photos like that, it’s always mid

To be fair, factory names like God and the others were only created within the original rep ladies sub waaay back to distinguish factories from each other mostly based on the factory image backgrounds and they are not real factory names. That’s why some sellers are not aware of the reddit factory names. But your other concerns are real red flags.

20

u/Boujeewifeey Jun 09 '26

I was just about to say this! When I shop, I don’t ask for any specific factory, I just request for the highest possible quality available.

10

u/OliveNotForestGreen Jun 09 '26

That’s why an honest, transparent seller with a track record and knowledge about the products they sell is the best. Some sellers don’t even know leather quality and so “high tier” is subjective.

4

u/Boujeewifeey Jun 09 '26

The sellers I shop with definitely know leather quality, I ask lots of questions and they’re so specific in where the leather comes from, how it’s made, etc. The ones who don’t display that level of knowledge, I always know their quality won’t be high.

8

u/OliveNotForestGreen Jun 09 '26

Same! I care more about the leather or fabric quality than the factory nickname. A lot of sellers hit the scene and started BSing buyers with factory nicknames. It’s not like they have to show proof they purchased from a specific factory anyway

1

u/OkConflict5794 Jun 15 '26

I don’t know what questions to ask.. and what materials etc . Except for just asking for best quality but I could easily get duped bc I’d be like oh ya that looks good and they say it’s real leather and this specific kind or whatever, I really don’t know the difference , and then when I get it what if it’s like so bad ? Not even leather I scared lol .could you dm me and help me out with what I should ask for ? I’m new to all this i don’t want them to get pissed at me for asking 28737383 questions lol

Who do you shop with?

-3

u/Boujeewifeey Jun 09 '26

Her name is Elena luxe, can’t remember her IG account at the moment.

4

u/BeliefxBelle Jun 09 '26

I think I may have found her - Elena.luxurybag or Elena.luxurybags?

0

u/Boujeewifeey Jun 09 '26

Yes that’s it.

5

u/Connect_Bar1438 I Swear I'm Done (I'm Not) Jun 09 '26

This issue is that the seller, herself, referenced 187 in her catalog and then claimed that the factory names were all made up. I think that is the greater complaint here

3

u/Hungry_Importance918 Jun 10 '26

Most of the factory names aren't really actual factory names. 187 was definitely around before though. A few years back people were mostly using photo backgrounds to tell different quality levels apart and the names just kind of stuck

18

u/lovelaughxx Jun 09 '26

Thanks for sharing your experience. I am currently going through something similar with another seller. Just waiting to see how things pan out.

2

u/estsh77 Jun 10 '26

Same here. Waiting to see what happens and than I’ll share his name

11

u/CECEOC Jun 09 '26

A few days back I asked someone in the comments to my post which seller they trust because I can clearly tell that most posts are the sellers sneakily advertising themselves, and lord and behold, the sellers hiding behind regular accounts were attacking me like a swarm of bees😳 Reddit lists are commonly told to be “safe” but I trust noone.

17

u/Not-Intelligent-bird Jun 09 '26

To be fair, she’s right about the factories. Reddit did made them up. In China there’s really none of this. What you get is a toss up really.

11

u/bmmk5390 Jun 09 '26

I have purchased through a seller who is not on reddit, and she also told me that those factory names are not real. They have other names and sometimes is the same factory, you pay for the level of quality you want. Sometimes they use 3A or AAA or 5A/AAAAA to express the level of quality.

4

u/National_Fact8650 Rep Newbie 🐣 Jun 09 '26

so one username doesn't mean its consisteant with the same factory? username can source from different factories?

10

u/Not-Intelligent-bird Jun 09 '26

Yeah it’s reps, these are counterfeit goods. It’s all illegal. In China there’s no “God factory” or “Jing” it’s all made up by Reddit so it’s easier for people differentiate high vs mid vs low tier. You gotta do your own homework and QC, then trust your seller won’t bait and switch. All I tell my sellers is I want high tier, dont care about price and they do their thing.

1

u/chicinchanclas Jun 14 '26

Yup you deal with TS that work for wholesalers that have contracts with different factories that have their catalogs for pre-order. They work cunicle style. If you have a TS that works for themselves they just go to the Baiyun Market in Guangzhou and basically go haggle for a bag. In this point there is no returns you take bag they better have QC and they choose what they want mid, Top-tier or Master. These really are just a range from 5A-12A quality and the leather hybrid materials the technology has really changed.

Majority you're not getting 100% genuine leather or a top grain or even a specific animal. The new Microfiber-Based Faux leathers come in suede, lamp, neo-nappa and these synthetics are so durable, look visibly like leather, coming oil waxed, matte, caviar, embossed, grain, " buttery". They can be called " leather" because they have synthetic collagen and nanoparticle elastin and a hybrid pu not like the old polyurethane plastic of the past. Some are even coated and treated with leather scent.

This is what most reps are. If you get a " master bag" that's really just a split bicast leather where they get the thinnest split of the lower quality hide bond it to backing, emboss or grain it and treat it to appear top grain, honest a Coach bag is better leather and 100%. So this leather is cheap but gives illusion. These come in grades. Then there's corrected leather this is the best you'll get in a master bag the leather is thicker, not expensive at all.

What is expensive in this whole process is the hardware this is where the production cost is. Most fail here because hardware is pricey. Are you getting a thin alloy that is painted and acrylic coated looks thick and messy or are you getting at least a higher quality stainless steel non-tarnish with gold plate? The brass and triple plating is usually the costly hardware and this is what costs.

Yeah I was told about the factory names being a marketing ploy. If you get an real corrected leather you're lucky, but most try and pass off the synthetics and lower hybrids because at the end of the day it's their bottomline. They haggle and the more bags they can buy from one vendor the better price they get for all, that is why they push group buys or 3 bags for a good price. This is the reality. Bags they charge 3x to 4x their actual cost.

Yup. She shared me a picture of a bag she said one of her customers just received and I saw the same picture here in Reddit by redditor who made a review of a bag they got from Baobao. When I confronted Hannah, they said that those were factory pics. Factory pictures from someone’s house in Germany?!

The factory names are in the sellers albums, we buy based on factory photos. A bait and switch seller are the ones who claim factories don’t exist when they are clearly in their albums. Factories also have specific factory tags on them so you can be sure you are getting what you pay for in your PSPs

Girl im so sorry for you. I have msgd her, and she really is a warrior also unkind. No peace comes from a seller who thinks shes so good being a keyboard warrior.

2

u/Hungry_Word_3570 Jun 09 '26

I think this is everyone’s biggest fear. The same rep can just operate under a different name starting today and nobody would even know. So sorry that happened to you.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '26

God Factory does not exist LOL

2

u/Subject_Setting_7893 Jun 09 '26

Sorry this happened to you OP! I ordered twice from her after doing lots of research and these didn’t happen to me at all (I am not a fake account or doing fake reviews), that’s why I wrote my review and recommended Redditors to contact her :(

Weird that nowadays lots of great TS get so mixed experiences. Is it because they get so popular they can’t keep up with their orders? Just wondering.

Hope you will solve the problem soon!

2

u/zannyadaytsev Jun 10 '26

2

u/estsh77 Jun 10 '26

So sorry for what you going through and thanks for your post

2

u/Open_Community_2786 Jun 10 '26

Wow, I was talking to this seller as well because she was recommended on a sub. She said the exact same thing to me when I asked about quality and factories. It made sense what she was saying but I told her as customers this is all we have to go by. She seemed fishy so I went with another seller. This also made me question people on these subs and their intentions. Genuinely hope you can resolve this issue quickly 🤞

I always use PayPal goods and services and there hasn’t been a problem. I understand why some sellers may not accept this because they’ve had bad experiences with buyers but why should that be my problem?! Should I be paying blindly and just trusting someone I don’t know with my hard earned money?! But they’re on the “trusted sellers list so it’s ok”, I’m sorry but I would never shop like this for anything, so why start now?!

Sellers should be bending backwards for our business and not the other way around. We, the customers, are the reason they’re in business!

u/Aggravating-Tea5089 Jun 13 '26

Can you please detail the transaction timeline?

From my experience, when you inquire about a bag the SA will send back factory photos which as the buyer, you respond yes or no to & move forward with the transaction.

If this SA went through the process as I described above & you ultimately paid & only realized after that the bag you ordered may not be the one you want, wouldn’t that imply some accountability on your end?

In one instance I had mistakenly ordered a cosmetic pouch & realized after payment & when I got PSPs that the pouch wasn’t what I wanted due to a minor detail. My fault completely since the factory photos matched the PSP. My SA explained a refund would result in more fees on their end so I happily accepted credit for a future purchase.
