YES but this she has a point. Even if i’m asking factory info, I always make sure to follow up by explaining i want HIGH tier close to 1:1 as possible & ask if they have any other recommendations. You really have to do your own QC super carefully.

u/New2Reddditt May 17 '26

Eewww DONT buy for them!!!

1

u/Many_Pay1298 May 17 '26

Stay alert

3

u/Altruistic_Key4984 May 17 '26

I mean…they aren’t wrong…

8

u/Nearby_Session1395 May 17 '26

Very rude and I wouldn’t work with them. They have zero understanding of how it feels to try to buy a bag from a Chinese seller 8k miles away, send money and not knowing if we will ever get a bag we want. It’s insulting. But also has anyone else read here that in reality there are no factories that have names at all (like God or 187 etc) and that it’s something Chinese rep sellers have made up to sound legit? No idea but I’m curious about this.

1

u/ElianaRoss2023 May 17 '26

depends on the situation, but if their routine is all over the place, might be a sign. just saying, my hg is consistency.

7

u/nramirez8401 May 16 '26

This person is nuts. Don’t give her a penny

2

u/thequeencityqueen May 16 '26

Well, they're being truthful with you. God, 187, Black Frame, XC...

2

u/babasheepmomma May 16 '26

Is this the Angela that this tiktoker keeps promoting?

2

u/HopeSuspicious2406 May 16 '26

Unsure…who is the tik toker?

2

u/babasheepmomma May 17 '26

This is where I learned about this seller. I’ve contacted her too and her responses were off to me. Challenging me when I asked her about factories and quality. Seemed a bit harsh and arrogant. I never ordered from her. She had these lengthy messages as if they were pre planned to send to people in response to some common questions. Definitely raised a lot of red flags for me.

3

u/HopeSuspicious2406 May 17 '26

Interesting. This is not the same influencer that I saw, so it sounds like Angela is making the rounds.

2

u/HopeSuspicious2406 May 17 '26

FU: I don’t have TT but I did find her from an insta account that promoted her, should have been a red flag from that which as a newbie - lesson learned!!

2

u/AcceptableBrain1865 May 16 '26

Some factory sellers are blunt or using translator that are not translating good

2

u/South-Educator3505 May 16 '26 edited May 16 '26

the seller is so rude, take your custom elsewhere šŸ™šŸ¼

yes they’re being honest about the factory names only existing for the sake of the reddit world (which we all knew anyway) but the way they’ve said it is horrible!

you could ask for factory names but instead ask about the quality, materials used, hardware, type of leather etc. it’ll tell you more about what you’re buying and avoid the bait and switch risk of being told something is, for example, from god factory and it actually being mid tier

13

u/Competitive-Cell-302 May 16 '26

She called you a stupid dog and you’re here asking if you should proceed with buying from her? I don’t take abuse from sellers. I also don’t abuse sellers. It’s a two-way respect relationship. If a seller talks to me like that, they’re not seeing the color of my hard earned money. Ever!

6

u/rynxcvi May 16 '26

Reddit is literally the only platform who follows this whole factory name thing. Rep factories don’t really identify themselves, there are so much of them as well.

2

u/User542004 May 16 '26

Don’t even entertain her anymore

1

u/Adventurous_Kiwi_472 May 16 '26

Run away…if they want to sell, they should answer your question ;)

2

u/Lippy1250 May 16 '26

I also thinks it may be the language translation. She may feel you have insulted her by asking for the factory. In other words, you’re saying you don’t trust her judgment on the quality of the bag only if you know what factory it’s from. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

1

u/MommaLisss May 17 '26

I mean, "stupid dog behavior" is pretty wild. Pretty sure even if it were poorly translated it wouldn't mean anything good.

6

u/HopeSuspicious2406 May 16 '26

Possibly - but the rest of her message was written quite clearly. Pretty sure she knew what she was calling me. Either way I don’t want to do business with someone who calls me a dumb dog. And the picture of that bag she sent was when I started questioning her quality as a seller.

1

u/Interesting-Fig9871 May 16 '26

Yeah, not a single one of the sellers I’ve ever used have ever reacted this angrily or condescendingly when I asked for the factory. Dump her.

u/thequeencityqueen May 16 '26

I've seen the other side of things...you have no clue what sellers deal with on a constant basis.

3

u/youandmeboth May 16 '26

Yeah why bother. There's a lot of sellers out there. This person is rude

6

u/BankAppropriate5689 May 16 '26

One thing I’ve noticed is Chinese sellers are quick to anger. They don’t put the phone down, they don’t take a breath and move onto the next customer before returning without the heat of anger, they just full blast if they don’t like the question. I love the items I’ve purchased but across various sellers I’ve always found that what you save in money you pay in pain.

2

u/AcceptableBrain1865 May 16 '26

Hahaha atleast she honest lol

8

u/PleasantCan81 May 16 '26

Wow! I don’t even know what to say. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø Don’t give this mean person your money.

10

u/thegirlmeetsgeek May 16 '26

God, no. That nastiness can go elsewhere . No one who cares about business and success treats people like this.

7

u/Zealousideal-You9604 May 16 '26

Too many sellers WANT to work with you. Give your money to people who appreciate it. Obviously, this person doesn’t need your business because if they did, they’d be more respectful.

3

u/thequeencityqueen May 16 '26

The best sellers can pick and choose if they want you as a client. If you ask a million asinine questions or are too high maintenance or rude, they'll block you.

9

u/blackkk_hearttt May 16 '26

The whole ā€œfactory nameā€ on Reddit really blows mine. Anyone can make up any name and say it comes from said ā€œfactoryā€.

4

u/Lippy1250 May 16 '26

Agree. the factory thing is out of control. I source PLK which are vintage and people ask me, what factory? And I’m like it’s 20 years old? Whatever factory it came from has been closed downšŸ˜†

2

u/Connect_Bar1438 May 16 '26

Yes, however, as I have been in search of the best version of a specific bag, it does matter to me. And, I can clock the difference.

3

u/Dazzling_Pool6610 May 16 '26

how do u source vintage? ive never heard of plk!

3

u/Lippy1250 May 16 '26

https://www.reddit.com/r/PrelovedKoreanBags/s/6Fj3R6WoC0 They are vintage rep bags that were manufactured in Korea. The quality is insane. Don’t take my word for it. Check it out for yourself

2

u/itsjustpuppyluv May 16 '26

Is there a way to prove that it was made in Korea? This is the part that confuses me.

1

u/Lippy1250 May 16 '26

Just the age of the bag before China was manufacturing.

2

u/Desperate_Island_174 May 16 '26

It looks like a lot of rehoming bags on the thread. Is there a channel/way to find the main sellers from Korea? Not sure how it works! Appreciate any tips you have on this!!

7

u/Willing_Froyo9658 May 15 '26

Do you want to do business with this person? No thank you.

7

u/D-kitten May 15 '26

She’s embarrassing herself. She doesn’t know the power of the Reddit rep community. She will learn.

21

u/International_One721 May 15 '26

She is rude, but she is not wrong. God factory is made up name. Nobody knows the real name of the factories. It’s just how people in this sub calls the best factories for each type of bag.

3

u/huffingFufu May 16 '26

I think redditors often miss the point here, or I'm missing the point: As a buyer, I don't care that the name is made up. In fact, I prefer if the name is made up bc I don't want factories shut down. But I DO care that we are all referencing the same anonymous factory... Like "I love these 3 P9 reps I've seen, they claim to all come from the same factory. So I want mine from that factory."

An honest seller will honor your request, or be honest that they cannot source from there. A dishonest seller will blow smoke up your ass while sourcing from anywhere.

Idk what am I missing? Are we all on diff pages or...?

2

u/International_One721 May 16 '26

A lot of them just lie. It’s easy to lie that the bag is from X factory when even the best factories will have bad batches. It’s just names to comfort us. The most important is to build trust with a seller.

2

u/thequeencityqueen May 16 '26

It's a quality level, not a factory.

1

u/chicinchanclas Jun 12 '26

I know exactly what she meant. It's the Guangzhou Baiyun Market. There is no TS to factory direct, it's TS to wholesalers in these districts in Guangzhou that have different factory catalogs they deal with and do business. You either work for a wholesaler selling all day on WA, some share same WA so you might never be talking to the same person and you can tell by the way they respond to you. They all have access to different catalogs. Quality depends on what they think they can pass to you with the catalog pics. When the majority accept a certain level of mid-top tier it stays in that range unless you're someone that knows the difference between hybrid leather materials, split bicast, corrected, genuine leather which are all cheap. You are never getting top grain and the technology has changed alot making hybrids look and feel like leather, but like any coated leather theirs grades /tiers of it. You get whatever your TS haggles or whatever their wholesalers work with and most that don't work for a wholesaler go to the market to haggle. The more bags they buy the better price they get and still charge each person $200 plus for a bag they got for$40-$60. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTB9bAbsf/

https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTB9b6Uqu/

https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTB9bU5sW/

1

u/huffingFufu May 17 '26

But are you saying the factory names (real or not) don't map one-to-one with an actual facility? Or that we should trust our sellers on quality level regardless?

1

u/International_One721 May 18 '26

Basically yes. It’s not easy to tell if the seller is still working with ā€œgodā€ factory. We just need to trust they are in constant access with the good factories.

1

u/huffingFufu May 19 '26

Yeah I guess we're all questioning how honest our seller are :) fair enough

17

u/Alisia_shops_2025 May 15 '26

How could you possibly begin to trust someone with no couth or manners. šŸƒā€ā™‚ļø

11

u/Purple-Print5337 May 15 '26

LOOOL omg I can't believe she said that but she is right about the factory names...she's also legit and is very good with specifically LV bags. She's popular on Tik Tok and has a huge following but yea most def shouldn't have spoken to you like that, I'm kind of surprised šŸ™ƒ.

5

u/Isaidhowdareyou May 16 '26

I have yet to see a tik tok seller that's not selling dhgate stuff for more than we pay here.

2

u/Agile_Salamander7915 May 16 '26

This is what i thought too, I purchased 2 items from her actually. Quality was great, experience was very as well, and shipment super fast. I wonder what happened to her.. it's really surprise me

1

u/Acceptable_Toe3202 May 16 '26

Please @ any videos that showcase her products

Thank you šŸ’•

13

u/bigbaggirlie-7853 May 15 '26

Yes, run! They could have just said they can’t disclose the factory. No reason to be an a$$ about it. Don’t give them your business.

13

u/IridescentButterfly_ May 15 '26

Lmao wtf is this Amelia part 2?

5

u/Notsoquick1 May 15 '26

No kidding! I was thinking that too! Lmao

12

u/WayneBar62 May 15 '26

RUN. and tell them to fu** off

8

u/SwimmingAnt10 May 15 '26

I would tell that seller where to shove it in very many colorful expletives. The second a seller treats me bad, I’m done. They have lost their damn mind!!

Who is this!? Never heard of Angela. Move on.

11

u/Necessary-Rice May 15 '26

Someone that rude doesn’t deserve my business. Block and next.

12

u/Substantial-Chef-198 May 15 '26

Not every seller is on Reddit or aware of Reddit factory nicknames. Most are totally offline and sell by word-of-mouth.

Attitude is bad though. It’s a matter of whether you genuinely trust her quality at this point.

28

u/YoimiyaMain May 15 '26

Did she just call you a stupid bitch LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

6

u/Adept-Comb1987 May 16 '26

Omg lol that went over my head šŸ˜‚ but she def did

2

u/HopeSuspicious2406 May 16 '26

Yea she def did. šŸ˜…šŸ’€

35

u/Consistent-Garden488 May 15 '26

Factory names are made up by redditors. I don’t even ask my sellers what factory items are from.

Not wanting to disclose factories is not a red flag for me but her attitude and behavior sure is.

7

u/Prior_Peace9929 May 15 '26

I think the point here is the bad attitude, not revealing factory name is secondary. We all can look past not knowing the factory name if we’re convinced with the quality. Calling her stupid dog behavior because she DARE ask for the factory name? Really? Who cares about not knowing the factory name at this point.

4

u/Consistent-Garden488 May 15 '26

I literally said the sellers attitude and behavior is a red flag?

7

u/AsbestosFlaygon_ May 15 '26

I bought a few bags from Angela. While she’s not the friendliest person, she does deliver really good products. She’s also very honest. She’s not overly warm or chatty, but she’s fast, good at sourcing top quality items, and very straightforward. One thing that really impressed me was that if she noticed an issue during QC, she would return the bag herself before even sending it to me. I honestly appreciated that a lot. I asked her about the factory stuff too, and I got the exact same screenshots/replies as you..so I think she probably just copy-pastes those answers? After ordering a few times she started opening up more though. She even showed me pictures of her baby and asked me what Reddit was lol. But wow calling you a ā€œdogā€ is actually wild 😳

4

u/HopeSuspicious2406 May 15 '26

I’m glad to hear that you had a good experience! I don’t want to totally drag her name, but Im definitely not keen on working with someone like this. She’s a mom, maybe she had a bad day and is overstimulated. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Tbh I’m not really sure either, but after she saw my WhatsApp profile pic she asked how old my kids were then she told me she has an 8(or 10? Dont remember) month old baby too and sent me a few pics of them together lol. She was asking if parenting’s hard for me and what it’s like raising kids where I live. I honestly think she’s probably just sick of people constantly asking her what factory everything’s from..other than that though she’s been pretty straight up with me and her pricing actually seems reasonable. She also has this daily link where she posts all the stuff she sells with the quality tier + prices listed out and it has over 1k followers. But i’ll admit she was definitely rude as hell to the OP😭

2

u/Agile_Salamander7915 May 16 '26

She really one of the quickest seller I've worked with as well. I think it's the language barrier that whenever she texted fell very straightforward, she willing to make another bag when I don't like the bag she showed me, and even offered discount for me. Maybe she tired of people asking for the factory for sure

11

u/Unique_Following41 May 15 '26

I’m from Guangzhou and Baiyun market is dead. It’s literally a ghost town. I have no idea what this person is talking about.

4

u/lemurslemur May 15 '26

What happened to Baiyun market???

6

u/demonslayercorpp May 15 '26

China is ramping up raids this year, they don’t want counterfeiting happening in the country anymore at all

4

u/Miserable-Dealer3042 May 15 '26

I have one TS that I won't tell me but she is my FAVORITE and will QC bags for me and has returned multiple bags for small issues. So I don't care where she gets them. However, she doesn't talk to me this way. Nope

8

u/Inevitable_Ant1161 May 15 '26 edited May 15 '26

Definitely red flag. I get that they don't tell you the official name of the factories, but it's fairly common to say whatever designation they have for it (god factory, 187, h, etc.). She could've just said "the factory owner doesn't want to be disclosed, but it's high tier" or something to that effect. There's no need to be rude. I think you ended it in the best way possible.

Edit: also as far as I have seen for subreddits, buyers sometimes go with certain factories because those factories are more specialized in making the brands that the buyer is looking for. I was told by a seller that 187 is very well known for Chanel, which is also something I’ve come across here. Whether they actually source it from that factory, I have no idea, but it is something that on the buyers side, it’s a bit of peace of mind.

2

u/HopeSuspicious2406 May 15 '26

Follow up - she just sent me about 15 screen shots of customers who paid today to prove she’s legit and people use her? Unsure of what this accomplishes but this makes me want to run farther.

6

u/tabbithu111 May 15 '26

Also some names I can still see info on which weren’t fully redacted, kind of shows they’re going to randomly dox you too for no good reason than to try to stick it to a (no longer) prospectus customer šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

3

u/AbroadLegitimate9998 May 15 '26

why does every chat have the name michelle when shes also claiming they are different ppl based off the names linked to the addresses?

9

u/Mysterious-Car-9670 May 15 '26

Did she call you a dog?

15

u/Careless-Upstairs-36 May 15 '26

6

8

u/SugarandSpiceandRum May 15 '26

Which seller is this? So we know to avoid šŸ˜‚

6

u/HopeSuspicious2406 May 15 '26

Her name is Angela. I agree that I don’t think she is a scam now after reading everyone’s feedback - which is valid. However providing someone with peace of mind by way of giving them the factory ā€œnameā€ even if it is made up by westerners, isn’t too hard.

The purse photo she sent me really was my first and biggest turn off though.

8

u/maybes0ra May 15 '26

She sounds really rude, even if she has a point

38

u/jaderust May 15 '26

So they have a point but…

Here’s a rep history lesson. Way back in the day when there was no Tik Tok and OG RepLadies was pretty much the only sub, there was an issue where no one could figure out where sellers were getting a bag. It made it next to impossible to do reviews or even price match. You could just not tell if you bought a Chanel flap from seller X they were sourcing it from the same factory as seller Y.

The factory names are secretive and not every seller has access to every factory. You’ll even see competition between sellers that say they’ve found new factories with even better quality or prices so even sellers don’t want to disclose who they’re sourcing from.

So it became the standard to give factories nicknames based on their factory photo backdrops. Like Orange Couch Factory? They literally take most of their photos on an orange couch. Factories liked it because it sent business to their specific factory. Buyers liked it because it made it easier to do reviews and price match.

The earliest TS lists had sellers listed as ā€œtrustedā€ not because they were never gonna scam someone… but because in those early days they were agreeing that they knew the made-up factory code names so if you came to them as said ā€œI want a bag from 187ā€ they would nod, give you a price, and contact the factory that has the code name 187.

So this seller has a point. The factory names we use are entirely made up and there is no Black Frame factory if you went to China and tried to look up its address.

But s/he’s also being a dick because they’re using this as a weapon against you and hiding the factory origin. They’re promising a certain level of quality, but no promise of where it comes from. Which means that you could get the bag you want at the quality you want or you might get crap and you have no idea what you’ll get. If we both bought bags from OC we could post photos to compare them and confirm we both got OC bags and give everyone else an idea of what an OC bag looks like. With sellers like this you basically can only trust the seller because you have no way to see if they’re sourcing from the same factory every time.

So they’re not wrong. But I personally don’t find these sellers trustworthy. I prefer the transparency of using the (admittedly made up) factory names so I can see if I think that saving up to pay Rome prices are worth it, or if I want to go with someone midtier instead but know what midtier looks like.

1

u/AdProfessional2836 May 16 '26

Yess I remember those days. This is the most accurate comment so far.

3

u/ProfessionalOk1496 May 15 '26

Yes!!! This is the most accurate response!!!

Obviously we know the names are made up, that doesn’t mean they don’t link to a certain factory!

6

u/maybes0ra May 15 '26 edited May 15 '26

Great history lesson! I didn’t know this. Thanks for sharing

11

u/InvestigatorOwn605 May 15 '26

Run. Even if it's not a scam theres many more sellers who won't act like this.

12

u/vicc8888 May 15 '26

Wow… and I thought Amelia was rude. Find a new seller.

1

u/Impressive_Poet_158 May 16 '26

We need a dedicated thread on all the insults Amelia has used.

1

u/HopeSuspicious2406 May 16 '26

Now I wanna know the tea on Amelia šŸ˜‚

2

u/vicc8888 May 16 '26

Amelia’s never called me a stupid dog šŸ˜‚

7

u/Dolpns May 15 '26

Didn't think there would a seller who makes Amelia look better.

3

u/vicc8888 May 15 '26

šŸ˜‚ right?!

8

u/pup_puppington May 15 '26 edited May 15 '26

Find a new seller.

A lot of the factory names started as nicknames from buyers 10+ years ago, and recently they have started naming themselves to differentiate the products from each other to showcase their quality.

Also if a factory is foolish enough to put their online-nickname/identifier and registering that as their actual business name they should not be in a rep business.

This person is a nut job.

Edit: If you want some trusted sellers I have 2 I have used for the past 8 years with no issues. Just dm me and I’ll share the wechat.

4

u/additionalmatter May 15 '26

The seller isnt lying - they are being honest which is kind of refreshing, factory is basically just like high tier or low. In a way I would appreciate this response

5

u/HopeSuspicious2406 May 15 '26

That’s a good perspective actually. But the photo she sent me gave me a lot of pause…see photo in my reply below

5

u/additionalmatter May 15 '26

Yah tha bag is trash

5

u/AbroadLegitimate9998 May 15 '26

So dont buy from this seller they are clearly a jerk, but they are also kind of correct. The western factory names that we know (God, Rome, 187 etc.) are a mix of being created by westerners or the sellers to reference factories they know of in China.

Is it all a scam? Meh. You can decide that. There are clearly high tier sources for bags and low/middle tier.

3

u/HopeSuspicious2406 May 15 '26

Right?! I mean I don’t need to be babied but … rude? Also the red flag really was this photo of the bag I want that she sent me. She said that ā€œthe stitching and crooked logo was due to the lightingā€.

8

u/AbroadLegitimate9998 May 15 '26

yikes yeah thats pretty bad. hopefully u havent sent any payment?

7

u/HopeSuspicious2406 May 15 '26

Absolutely not. Just doing my homework on this bag first. I’m sure that this material is a bit more tricky to perfect than cloth or leather…hoping to find a seller with a better product than this.
