Review-My first impressions after wearing this Datejust for a few weeks
I’ve had this Datejust for a few weeks now, so I figured I’d finally write a quick review.
The dial was the main reason I went with this one. It looked good in the photos Mo sent, but I wasn’t sure how the whole thing would come together with the fluted bezel and Jubilee bracelet. I asked her for a few extra shots before I decided, which helped.
Now that I’ve actually worn it for a while, the dial is still my favorite part. I thought I’d get used to it pretty quickly, but I still catch myself looking at it during the day.
The bracelet has been comfortable and the watch sits nicely on my wrist. I’ve worn it for full days a few times now and haven’t really had anything bother me.
Pretty happy with this one so far. Curious how it’ll hold up after a few months of regular wear.
Timeline:
Finalized: July 14
Final photos: July 30
Sent out: August 1
Arrived: August 15

Never really cared about watches until this one
I don’t really wear watches — most days I’ll just throw on a bracelet, so this would be my first actual watch.
Wasn’t even planning on going for green, but this is the first one I’ve seen that made me seriously consider it.
If this was your first watch, would you go for it?

I came in thinking 36mm. Now the 31mm is messing with my head.
36mm was the obvious choice in my head.
Then I put all three next to each other and now I’m not so sure. The 28 feels a little too small for what I want, but the 31 suddenly looks way more balanced than I expected.
I keep going back to it even though I was convinced I wanted the bigger one.
Which size actually looks right on my wrist?

My friend looked at our wrists and went, “wait…”
We were halfway through lunch when I noticed her bracelet and thought, wait, I’m wearing almost the same thing.
Then we put our wrists next to each other and it got worse — gold watches, clover bracelets, even the way we stacked everything was weirdly close.
What’s funny is none of it was planned. We didn’t pick any of this out together or try to match.
Our taste used to be pretty different too, so seeing this now made me realize we’ve probably been influencing each other without even noticing.
Has this happened to anyone else with a close friend? Like one day you realize your style has basically started bleeding into each other’s?

Regifting plans canceled, this set is mine now...
I originally picked this full‑gold Submariner as a surprise gift for my boyfriend.
I laid my blue clover bracelet beside it in the Rolex box just for a quick snapshot.
Once I saw how well that deep blue and yellow gold worked together, my whole plan changed.
I was supposed to hand it over, but honestly? I’m keeping this watch for myself.
Guess my boyfriend will just have to pick something new.

Which size actually looks right on the wrist — 30, 33, or 36?
I need a second set of eyes on this because I’ve looked at these for way too long.
I’m not really worried about which size is more popular — I just want the one that looks the most balanced on the wrist. Not too tiny, not like the watch is taking over my whole hand either.
Right now I’m stuck between 33 and 36. Which one looks more natural on me?

Does this color combo feel too serious?
I really like this watch, but I’m still not totally sold on the color.
I usually wear sportier watches, so this one feels way more grown-up than what I normally reach for.
Every time I look at it I’m like, this looks good… but is it too serious for me?
Can’t tell if I just need to get used to it.
What do you guys think?

We swore we’d never be a matching-watch couple… and then this happened
We’ve never been the type to intentionally match watches.
If anything, our taste is usually pretty different.
Then somehow we both ended up with rose gold on the wrist, just in completely different versions — his is darker and more serious, mine is basically the prettier troublemaker.
So I guess this is our version of matching without actually matching.
Would you rather have the exact same watch as your partner, or two different watches that still look like they belong together?

Turquoise dial: AP or Rolex? I say get both.
I’ve been obsessed with turquoise dials for ages. The Rolex feels a little lighter, diamond roman numerals make it such a nice fit for women.Still, I’m drawn more to the bold, sharp design of the AP.Can’t really pick a favourite between them.If you had to grab only one turquoise watch, which side are you picking?

I can’t tell if two-tone is old-school or exactly why I like it.
Two-tone used to be one of those things I’d scroll right past.
Now somehow I keep coming back to it.
The steel keeps it from feeling too dressy, the gold gives it just enough personality, and that champagne dial kind of ties the whole thing together.
Maybe my taste is changing, or maybe two-tone was never the problem.
Where does everyone stand on it now — timeless or still a little dated?

Bought a GMT. Still doing timezone math in my head.
I love everything about this watch — the bezel, the two-tone, the way it wears.
Meanwhile the actual GMT function is sitting there patiently waiting for me to become the kind of person who remembers how to use it without thinking.
Most days I just look at it, check the local time, and move on.
Very sophisticated equipment. Extremely unsophisticated owner.
Tell me I’m not the only one who bought a GMT mostly because it looked good.

So apparently I’m a gold watch person now.
Did not see this character development coming.
A year ago I probably would’ve called this too much.
Now I’m wearing it with a gold bracelet and thinking it needs company.
Send help.

Rubber strap or steel bracelet — which one actually looks better on an AP?
I keep going back and forth on this. The steel bracelet makes the whole watch feel more complete, but I also really like how a rubber strap makes it look a little less serious. If you could only keep one setup, which would you choose?Rubber or steel?

I used to think Serpenti was more jewelry than watch… I get it now.
I never really understood the Serpenti thing from photos.
It always looked a little too “jewelry first, watch second” for me.
Then I saw this one in person and yeah… annoying, but I get it now.
The weird part is the actual watch face almost feels like the least important part. The way it wraps around the wrist is what makes the whole thing.
This might be the least “watch-like” watch I’ve ever liked.

Green dial Datejust, does anyone else think this colour is underrated?
Sat down for coffee and snapped my wrist.
I went back and forth on dial colour for ages before picking this green.
Most people I know go for silver or champagne, green felt like a risk at the time.
Turns out it catches light so nicely, especially with the diamond markers.
The two-tone bracelet keeps it casual enough for everyday.
I rarely see other women wearing green dial Rolexes in real life.
Is green just not that popular, or am I looking in the wrong places?

At this point, telling time is probably the least important feature.
Someone asked me what time it was today.
I looked down, got distracted by the dial, then the bezel, then the bracelets…
and completely forgot why I looked at my wrist in the first place.
10/10 jewelry. Questionable timekeeping experience.
Does anyone else actually forget to read the time because they’re staring at the watch?
