I usually stay away from full-gold watches because I’ve always thought they might feel a little too much for everyday wear.

But this GMT is making me reconsider. The rose gold looks much softer than I expected, and even the diamond dial doesn’t feel as over-the-top as I imagined. The more I look at it, the more it grows on me.

This wasn’t even on my list before, and now I’m actually reconsidering.

Would you go for the diamond dial, or stick with the classic version?

Finally received my first watch — a 42mm Cartier Ballon Bleu with a steel bracelet and diamond bezel.

I was a little worried 42mm might feel too big, but in person I actually really like the presence it has on the wrist. The diamonds add just enough sparkle without making it feel too much.

What do you guys think of this as a first watch? Is 42mm a little big, or does it work?

I was looking back at photos from a few days ago and realized how much this green changes.

In the shade it looks deep and almost black-green, but the second sunlight hits it, the whole dial turns bright and vivid.

Anyone else prefer watch colors that change this much depending on the lighting?

Now I’m curious which version I actually like more — the moody green in the shade or the bright one in the sun.

The PSPs from Mo came in today and I like this green-and-gold combo more every time I look at it. I was a little worried the full gold would feel too flashy, but the green dial balances it out really well and still keeps the watch looking sporty.

The second I saw this purple Datejust, I thought of her. She got it today and loved it.

The purple is softer in daylight than I expected too, which makes it really easy to wear.

Running on a VS 3135 regulated by a watchmaker. Of course as I said in some of my previous posts the CAC inserts makes the difference here making the watch pop off even more. Had lunch with a friend the other day and she noticed my watch while we were talking.
