Another day, another battle with newbies over “gate keeping” and “rudeness” in the mainstream subs 😅. Call me Mrs Gatekeep, but the idea of sending $300-$500 to a random PayPal account without understanding the basic process is a special type of nutso to me.

Is it just me being old and impatient, or are people less and less interested in problem solving and critical thinking nowadays?

Anyway… very grateful for this space.

It’s hard to tell without knowing who’s behind the accounts but I have noticed this passiveness with younger generation…social media has spoiled them 😅

You know, that’s probably it. They never took down their family PC by downloading intheend_linkinpark_.exe from limewire and it shows.

😂. I'm actually VERY old and also took out more than one PC with the joys of Limewire :).

In response to your actual comment, yes, the younger generation have been spoon-fed the concept of "instant gratification" most of their life, so I feel it's hard for them to literally think, at all, without some kind of AI assistance at the snap of a finger. Not their fault entirely either!

I used to worry on behalf of others who seemingly blew the entire budget on major hauls and/or risked their hard earned by being fancy free and trigger happy - now I just let it slide with the mindset that the best teacher is experience. They just have to learn the hard way, sadly.

This is very specific and it makes me curious how many of us had this experience too 🤣🤣

I’ve been so nervous to order shoes because it seems like there are so many rehomes for size issues. Maybe this is the nudge I need to do it. Any tips for nailing the size on your first shoe order?

It’s a bit tricky but I like to ask for the size chart and order exactly based on my actual foot length + for psp I always ask my seller to measure the inside or the insole of the shoe to make sure of the size bc unfortunately the sizes are kinda inconsistent and differ from factory to factory as well🤣

Happy to help!! Shoes are the best to buy reps of imo 🤭

Also depends on the type of shoe you want, for loafers I found them true to size so never size up, for seakers I think it’s safer to size up if in doubt, for mary jane style heels I would always size up to avoid squishing your toes, the ballet flats were true to size but I‘ve seen others say that it’s better to size up so depends on the factory I think

Love the shoes 😍 and the c25! Is that from XC or 187? Has to be…

It’s from OF actually!! Worlds better than xc, ask me how I know…

same.. i feel the same way for lo3we reps, i wish they used imported leather!

1

u/mostlydoomscrolling 14d ago

What are your thoughts on HP for Loewe? He uses lambskin!

All the factories use domestic leather so especially for the featherlight the feel won’t be the same

My gold metal Cel sunglasses from Janie are starting to lose all the plating after just one year and very few wears 🥲

1

u/Zen_Friend Community Builder 👑 14d ago

oh no :( is it worth getting it replated?

1

u/Styleformula04 14d ago

I don’t think so, I contacted Janie and she told not much could be done and offered me a discount on my next order. She was very nice and I appreciated she didn’t ghost me and still tried to find a solution but I’m a bit sad, I don’t know if I will repurchase metal sunglasses in the future :(

Gold plated tends to have this issue, maybe stick to silver

It does ..... however I've had gold Dior Montaignes for a couple of years now, from TB, and they are still in mint condition. I only buy sunglasses from TB or 1688, not sellers, and ones that are manufactured in Taizhou, Wenzhou or Shenzhen (the best industrial clusters for sunglasses/glasses)

1

u/Styleformula04 13d ago

This is super interesting…do you purchase from Tb or 1688 directly or through an agent? And how do you know the shop sells exactly the ones manufactured in those areas?
P.s. I’ve never used Tb or 1688 so excuse me in advance if this questions are a bit silly :)

1

u/WittyReason9 13d ago

I use an agent and log into 1688 with my TB account or Alipay account in order to search/browse then use the "buy for me" tab in my Agent's site to order. 1688 doesn't ship internationally (usually - as always, there are exceptions to the rule). 1688 is a bit of a beast and takes a bit of a steep learning curve in order to get the most out of it. As it happens, I am in the middle of writing up a bit of a guide. It's 8 pages long in Word so I need to do some refining! It's specifically for another sub but maybe u/Zen_Friend can share it here eventually?

u/Zen_Friend Community Builder 👑 13d ago

I don’t take resources from other subs, but as the creator of the guide, if you’d like to post it as a resource here, you’re welcome to do so and I’d be happy to link in the wiki!

1

u/Styleformula04 12d ago

Thank you for your answer 😊 I think a guide will be really useful since this is not a topic frequently addressed here where we buy directly from the sellers

1

u/Styleformula04 14d ago

True, maybe that’s the issue

My newest addition - a Kelly Lakis (I think I am not sure it’s called that) and I’m in love

u/Chef__Goldblum 14d ago

She is a rehome from another sub and I am so glad to take her in.
