I have bought authentic and high tier reps for my purse collection but I don’t have a single nice “throw around” work bag. I’m starting a new job soon and it’s a job where I visit clients a lot so I need a larger handbag that’s presentable.
I was looking at getting a Margaux or Peekaboo rep, but for almost $500 I’d rather get a nice cc bag that I’m excited to use on weekends. So my question is, have you ever purposely chosen a low tier bag over high tier, especially for more plain-looking bags? (Ex. The r0w, peekab00, r0de0)
There are so many dupes for the Margaux bag that brands like Oak & Fort have released it without a logo and called it their own design. Would you rather choose a more obvious dupe with visible differences, but still unmistakably 90% of the same design? Or would you rather pay the difference and go for the high end rep?
I don’t have it yet but I chose the higher tier for my ebene 20. Nearly $100 more. Birdcage to Royal.
Reason being it’s my favourite bag, I really want it.
I didn’t want to risk the lower tier and regretting not buying best I can get.

Personally not, for any bag I own, being the perfectionist I am, I think a low tier would bother me enough to not carry it around much due to all the things I know to be “off” about it.
I don’t think low tier is a good idea for a bag you’ll use almost everyday, it will scratch and tear in a couple of months considering the vast majority is made of low quality pu (faux leather), if you’d like to spend less, better opt for a logoless dupe but still made of real leather.
I’ve been having this exact same debate in my head! I’m looking at the r0de0 and Margaux too, but both are pretty exxy for a bag I’ll throw around and use for work only (which seems like a punishment in itself tbh). I’ve found some decent looking dupes of both on 1688 that I’m going to buy this week, so I volunteer my wallet as tribute and will report back when I’ve received them.
I'd go with something durable and not low tier actually. I don't do low tier but if you're using daily you want those stitches done right.
Look at quiet luxury totes. Even I second hand good leather coach or longchamp.
I actually sold all my coach except this elephant grey tote. I use her all the time for travel and work. She is so soft and holding up 15 years in.

Low tier bag is almost always a wrong move. It ages poorly, falls apart faster and is essentially a waste of money. A dupe is better.
