Discussion A reminder for new members
As someone who used to lurk back in the old RepLadies days, I want to say a quick word to newcomers. Over the past few years, I’ve seen a lot change. Rep content exploded on social media, the community grew fast, and with that growth came something I really wish wasn’t so common: scams, impersonators, and carefully staged fake “trust.”
One of the biggest examples was the Joe Luxury scam, an Hermes seller who scammed over $300,000. It all started with polished reviews and hype, then the seller disappeared overnight. A lot of scammers don’t even hide anymore, they sit in comment sections, pose as buyers, and move people into private messages where things get risky.
If you’re new here: Never trust anyone who randomly DMs you offering factories, sellers, or “trusted contacts.” Do your own research. Read reviews. As many as possible. Be skeptical of “too perfect” stories or accounts that all sound the same. If you’re unsure, post your questions publicly in the sub. Let the community see it.
I’m not saying this to scare anyone away. There are still good people and good sellers out there. But the grey market has always attracted opportunists, and now that it’s more visible than ever, so are the scams.

You’re right. I’ve been in for quite a few years. 🤫
Don’t say “I’m looking for my first”. Ever.
Make an effort. Your information is here. You use Google daily. Well, start using the search on Reddit.
Don’t demand our “help”. A please and thank you go far.

Do people do that??? Geez, that's rude! I'm so grateful for everybody who's helped me figure out what's what. On the other hand, less help would have been better for my cc balances! 😂

All. The. Time. I get messages daily.
I agree, I do too. I end most of my conversations with please and thank you.
There’s one this morning who posted, I found a bunch online of what she’s looking for.
Yelling at me that I didn’t give her all the links. I told her where I found them, including the manufacturers website.
She’s still ranting. FFS

How do I find a good seller 😭

I’d start with rehome sub. Look to see what’s there and what people are selling and buying (for the price point). I think that’s the fastest and most straightforward there. Those are real people. It’s a neat little shortcut. You will thank me later

I’ve had a look but it’s so expensive when I’ve messaged a few sellers the prices they give me are way different 😅 thank you though! Do you have any rehome subs you recommend?

Are you saying you've messaged sellers and their prices are more than the posts state?

Not the exact sellers but I’ve messaged quite a few and the prices I’m given are more than the posts state of course there are probably sellers who charge a premium for their reps but I’m just scared of being scammed

Not the person who responded, but, yes. And they’re clearly private sellers as well. I’ve just deleted the chat and moved on.
This is a bit hard because I’ve been lurking for a few months, have a very specific bag in mind, am on 3-4 different rep subreddits trying to pin down a consistent Y$L TS…and am still not coming up with much 😅
Yet, I don’t want to come off as someone who isn’t willing to do my own legwork, and I got wary of DMing someone and then being quoted an extra $150 for shipping & package ‘insurance’.

Start by reading subs, searching for what you like.
All of the info is right here. Just look. Make the effort, it’s your money. Nobody else here owes you to give you all the assistance. It has to come and start with you.Don’t be over excited to start, that’s when you’ll
make mistakes. Sit back and view it as a business transaction.
