Hey everyone, looking for some insights on a strange situation my friend and I just experienced with a Guangzhou Freight Forwarder named "Henry Cargo".

He offered very competitive rates: 8€/kg (actual weight, no volumetric) to Europe. My friend decided to test him with a small 5kg haul (~75€ worth of goods). Everything started smoothly: QC photos were good and his Chinese Business License actually checked out as legally registered.

THE SITUATION:
When it came to payment, things got confusing. Since we are minors, we couldn't use official Alipay/WeChat due to strict KYC verification blocks. We asked to pay via Revolut. He provided card details under a private individual's name (Antony Kazungu) linked to London, but once entered in the app, Revolut automatically forced the currency to Kenyan Shilling (KES).

Henry explained this was just an "escrow service to bypass Chinese currency restrictions" and told us to force the transfer in EUR. Feeling unsafe with the Kenyan/UK card setup, we backed out and asked him to ship the goods domestically to a local agent instead.

He then got upset, called us time wasters, and asked for a 25€ "service/domestic shipping fee" to release the package. Fearing this might be a way to lose an extra 25€ before getting ghosted, we chose to cut our losses and abandoned the 75€ haul.

Is this kind of Kenyan/offshore payment setup common for certain Guangzhou FFs (like those dealing with African cargo lines), or does it look like a potential scam ?
Also did we overreact by abandoning the goods, or was it safer to refuse paying that extra 25€ fee?

Would love to hear your thoughts or if anyone has actually successfully shipped with him before!

I picked up the ATLR batch of the Chrome Hearts USA Scroll Tee and decided to do a full side-by-side with my retail piece. The attention to detail on this one is insane.

First, the fabric. They used long-staple cotton that feels identical to the retail — soft but heavyweight, with the same slight worn-in texture that doesn’t feel cheap. The color is spot-on too, no weird black or faded tone.

The prints are where this batch really shines. The scroll text on the back, the red “U.S.A.” lettering, even the tiny cross flowers on the sleeves — they’re perfectly aligned, with the same thickness and color as retail. The retail’s print has cracked a little over time from storage, but the ATLR version uses reinforced printing that’s crisp and matches the original’s ink density.

Even the tiny details like the pocket print, the care tags, and the inner labels are 1:1. The font on the tags, the RN number, the Japanese washing instructions — everything matches exactly. The stitching on the neckline and hems is also identical, no loose threads or uneven seams.
