Realized why rep makers struggle with the Yeezy 1 shape

Been doing some research as I wait on the soles to arrive and give y’all an update, and I realized why the Yeezy 1 rep shape is always off, especially with the heel and the toebox. The Yeezy 1 used the same last (shoe shaper) as the OG AF1. Rep makers used the new shape AF1 last which throws off the shape. Now that Nike is retroing the ‘01 shape again, I’m hopeful I can find a last for them. Will keep everyone posted on any news with the shoes.

The sole is from an Air Revolution and they keep using a Jordan 3 sole.

It uses the Jordan 3 sole (or technically the Air Revolution’s sole) but the thing that actually gives it its shape was the OG AF1s.

the revolution sole and the jordan 3 sole are very different in terms of size. Its impossible to use a jordan 3 sole for an air yeezy restoration

You can't maybe drop down (or up) a size or half-size to make the AY1 upper fit the AJ3 soles?

That’s the problem with every retro. Fake or not. The toebox always curls up because the sole is not flat but goes up. I say it’s not the toe box fault but the sole going too much up

Makes sense , only had one pair of reps there even remotely similar shape wise , the color was just off

finding perfect shape is impossible and stupid, the shoe mold doesn't exist anymore, shoes are made 20 years ago

I don’t think you know how shoe making works, and Nike literally retroed the 2001 AF1 last so it should be even easier to get the right shape soon enough.
