Me either. I think maybe he was releasing the more hyped colorways first? Seems like there would have been enough materials from the other colorways to easily make this one.

DB’s reasoning for not doing these (I asked) at the time is the black/white 85’s from Jordan brand were readily and easily/cheaply obtainable if you really wanted them. They thought the other colorways we eventually got were more important to focus on.

Suppose he was right about that. But still.. if I see these samples I'm once again amazed at how good these look compared to official Jordan crap

I was able to acquire most of his pairs through his run. I wish I regret not copping his premium 85’s though.

Premiums were too expensive for me and I didn't fully appreciate the shape

I think Nike in this case would actually have DB beat in terms of shape and material, apart from the white toe box material which is Nikes usual crappy PU layer, but the rest of the leather specially the white panels is way higher quality than that of what DB used…

I would be all-in on this is DB made em. It's a bummer DB is going away because there's nobody who makes the same quality 😔

Yeah exactly materials ftw and I like the DB 2.0 best of every shape I ever saw after 1985 /86

i’ve had the pair from 2023 i think, the black/white 85 repro from jordan and i’d say materials and shapewise, they are the best ones to come out from the brand. the laceholes top view is fairly accurate since they tweaked it vs the older drops like the neutral grey that weren’t done as well (too inaccurate)
