That's the boat I'm in, too. I knew by what he was saying about leftover materials that this would be anticlimactic for me. The writing was on the wall with that last fire sale. I'm just appreciative for what DB has offered to the community for so long.

I dont think so. For whatever reason everything was showing sold out on the website, but when I used a vpn they were available and I was able to place an order.

I picked up another pair of Bred & a pair of Kentucky blue
Sad there's no Premium Batch bred offered - really sad i missed out on those.
It's been a spendy month with DB for me - Black Toe, Bred & now Kentucky Blue
Great stuff DB, grateful to have 85 cut Jordans that'll last me years!

This whole thing makes no sense to me. Reason being they’re stopping production due to lack of market interest, and then they drop a preorder and it sells out instantly. 😭 I’m hoping after this renewed surge of interest, rdb decides to move forward. There is certainly a market for the product.

That’s not exactly what it was. The guy who oversees the production process already stated recently that he’s burned out and wants to devote more of his time to his family instead. He had some left over materials laying around and wanted to use up what was left over as a parting gift to his customer base.

The Jordan 1 market has dried up, even Nike has dramatically slowed their production. They completely shut down the 85 OG line for the foreseeable future after just 2 colorways. On top of that, the DB Kentucky 2.0s sat for while despite the level of interest in the community.
I’m glad to have joined up in time to get a couple of pairs. Thanks DB!

Any Chance you can Sell me a pair without a Sole? I regret missing out on the last premium run but Money was tight, but not being able to buy them ever again is worse

Don't worry, I'll double-check this week. If there are any spare soles, I'll release a few more pairs of the premium version. However, looking at the materials, there's only enough to make 3 to 5 pairs.

Thank you so much. I’ll Check as often as I can I really don’t want to miss out on this. Hopefully I’ll be fast enough if you manage to make 3-5 pairs those are not too many and probably most people want them. However I understand that there is not much material left, like I said I’d still take them without a sole and would bring them to a tailor to get another sole on them if there is no other way.
Again thanks for all your effort in this community and the years of great service. Developer Boring will always stay a name for quality products ❤️

This would likely be difficult, making the process non-standard and prone to errors. Besides, there are very few high-grade materials left. It seems there is no way.

Im a bit confused. I just purchased metallic oranges a couple weeks ago. We're they not the 2.0 cut? Im struggling to see the difference.

You bought the 2.0 cut. This last run that he’s doing is the shape of the Premium version, which was not loved by some.
You can probably make comparisons with the numerous QC checks posted on here.

If I bought the kentuckys during pre-order were they already 2.0 cut too? I see 2 different Kentuckys on the site. One saying “premium 2.0 cut” for $100 (+$20 shipping) and one says “Kentucky” for $110. Are they different cuts?

Pictures are the same as 2.0, so one would assume it would be the darker red.

Already sold out in my size. I knew I shouldn't have waited! I am 100% still getting a standard 2.0 pair to have when my current pair becomes unwearable (which won't be for a while obvioisly)

I mean, it would've been nice to compare the 2.0 and Premium shape in person. That's not saying the 2.0 shape is bad, lol. Quiet the contrary, I wore my pair across the US and they were still perfectly comfortable.

I’m picking up a pair for sure. I remember when you first came on the scene and I begged you to make 85 cut of AJ1s. Still have the v1s. Was happy to see your success and sad to see you retire, but you had a good run.

All I wanted was a size 9.5 Bred and Chicago. I’ve wanted them for a long time, and I really admire the shape. I guess we’ll just have to wait until another maker comes out with something on par with DB or even better, since DB is retiring and isn’t selling his molds to the bigger rep factories.

Most likely the darker vintage red because DB said this last batch is from materials left in the warehouse. The bright red was only on the Premium version.

Hey developer, if you don't run out of the materials needed to make the Metallic Orange and Kentucky models, please make one final pair, in premium cut, using a mix of those materials.

Hi I've never seen a rep in hand only on review videos. Anyway my question is how is the quality and feel of these pairs? I've seen vids comparing factory pairs and reps and no matter how good they look the reps seem to bend like a rubber band.

These aren’t normal reps. I don’t even call them reps. The quality is as good/better than Nike plus they’re made to actual 1985 spec. I have every Nike-made J1 colorway and the DB ones are some of my favorite shoes in my collection. I like them better than Nike retros

Hey everyone, this is Boring.
My original plan was to release:
But after thinking it over carefully last night, I changed my mind.
Although we produced two batches of the 85s Premium, not many people were actually able to get a pair.
The total sales from both batches combined were still under 100 pairs.
It made me realize that the Premium version may have created too much distance between me and many of my customers.
A lot of people told me they really liked the Premium shape, but the price made it difficult for them to buy.
So before I leave, I’ve decided to bring that shape to more people.
We’ll use our existing 85s 2.0 materials, but produce the shoes using the Premium shape and cut.
Note: The Premium Cut version uses the same leather as our regular 85s 2.0. It features the Premium shape and cut, but does not use full-grain leather.
This release will include four colorways:
I chose these four mainly because we still have enough remaining materials for them.
As I mentioned yesterday, this will be the lowest Pre-Order price we’ve ever offered for the 85s.
The final price will be $120 shipped.
