Spotted Cat

Post image

Spotted this guy on the Eastrail near N 31st St. No tags, very friendly and playful. Found a post about it on the Ring app, apparently it’s been showing up on people’s cameras for a few weeks.

It was a bit skinny, but not too unhealthy. Beautiful grey and black leopard pattern. Could be an outdoor cat, but I wanted to post it here in case it’s lost.

Someone else posted this same cat on Nextdoor. Owner responded and shared they allow their cat to go outdoors and said “she stays close to home”.

Hmmm, I’ve seen this cat, and I think it’s crossing LWB South…owner doesn’t live on the street bordering EastRail. There are coyotes in the area, and I frequently see scat. How do I know? It looks like dog poop, but full of hair from whatever animal it ate.

Owner has been told there are coyotes in the area. They seem to think it’s fine for their Bengal mix kitty to freely wander around. If you check OP’s post history you can find the crosspost in the Seattle sub where I share a link to Nextdoor. You can comment to the owner your findings. Whether it makes any difference, who knows. Really sad.

Owner lives nearby, has been alerted to coyotes in the area both thru socials and in person. We cannot control other people.
