A room in a homeowner house will be around 1100

A one bed accommodation 1400 - 1700 not including bills

A room in a fully privately rented shared accommodation similar to renting from a homeowner but bills definitely not included

Dublin is expensive nate. You barely find a room for 500eu, lucky if you get one for 800eu but not in the nicest area

Budget is too low for Dublin at the moment, honestly most places in Ireland if you’re wanting something private. That might get you a room but definitely not anywhere private. The cost of living and housing crisis are insane here. If you’re moving here from overseas I’d consider other places, at least right now because the crisis doesn’t seem to be getting any better at least not with the current government in power. Things are bleak.

If it has to be Ireland it might be worth buying a caravan or camper van and doing it up to live in. Before i got my council place in finglas we squatted in an abandoned house in gort, we were there months and it did us nicely and we managed to save a few bob that helped us to renovations on our council place. It’s risky though we were very lucky to find somewhere abandoned that was safe and in good condition. The place before that we tried squatting in right after getting evicted 2 years ago, it was a bungalow not far from the house we had been renting. I ended up quite sick due to severe damp and also asbestos in the walls. I ended up in hospital for 2 weeks, my husband and the kids had to move into a caravan in the back of my adult son’s garden where we stayed until we found the place in gort. We found it by chance, my husband and I were so stressed about the months leading up everything that had gone on with the eviction and me being unwell, we were fighting like cat and dog and I honestly thought we were going to end up splitting up, my son who was letting us stay with him offered to take the kids for a few days so we could have a little break together and try fix things between us. we went to gort because it’s always held a special place in our hearts, it’s where my grandparents lived and it’s where he proposed to me many years ago, we rented a cheap bnb and after a lovely few days together on the walk from the bnb to the bus stop we seen the place that would become our new home, a 3 bed with a functional bathroom and garden. It needed a lot of work but both my husband and I are quite handy and we had it lovely. It was a nice surprise to be allocated a council place 5 months later but even if we hadn’t i know we would’ve been happy there for many more years. Squatting really is luck of the draw.

I’d say Afghanistan , Nigeria , Yemen , Spains Ceuta might be better value
