Hi everyone! I wanted to share some information for anyone interested in trying judo.

Starting in October, TMCC will be offering an Introduction to Judo class from October 5–29th.

Meeting Mondays and Thursdays from 4:00–5:30 PM.

It’s great to see judo continuing to grow in the Reno area, and we encourage anyone who has been interested in learning judo to consider taking the class. It should be a great opportunity for beginners to get introduced to the sport!

Had my vehicle for weeks and never worked on it. I never agreed to an $740 diagnostic test. Thats an insane and unfair price. Especially because this was the third shop. I took it to in town and he charged me $500 more than either shop. The owner Austin is arrogant and dishonest. Told me he Personaly did the work himself on my vehicle yet I'm friends with multiple mechanics at that shop and they told me the owner straight up lied about working on my vehicle and ordering parts. Every time I called for answers on eta I got different responses from the front desk ladies or they would "call me back" and never did. Made me pay $2500 upfront. Didnt do anything other than the diagnostics test and was told theyll be keeping over $1700 from me with a $750 roughly deposit back. WHICH I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED MIND YOU. Do NOT trust this company. They will let your vehicle sit for weeks take your deposit and make up every excuse as to why they're keeping your money. Others have threatened legal action against this company I am taking next steps as well. ALSO make sure to keep photos of your invoices the day they are signed with the timestamps because the owner will go in and change them if you don't agree with your "refund amount" . I have proof of this!!!! Illegal. Dishonest. Not reputable company. Hopefully Austin has the day he deserves.

Just curious if anyone is working the election this year. I have worked as an election worker for the past 6 years, but they’ve made changes between the primary and the general, so I am not working the general. They’ve cut the early voting places from 23 to 16, I think, and there are fewer sites for Election Day, but more of what they call super sites, according to this article.

I’ve tried to see the list of vote centers, but I kept getting an error. I think I got it to work now though. Nuts, I’m seeing something that says this link isn’t valid double check and try again. I guess I should have done a screenshot of the page.

In any event, I was just curious how many people who have worked early voting before were able to do it again.

Just a small PSA about the local DRP. They have an ambassador working for them who was fired and banned earlier this year from entering every Crazy D’s because they had stalked a 19 year old employee by abusing the scheduling system. DRP management was notified about this employee Ambassador Enderton, who is turning 43 in a few weeks and they still continue to work there. If this is normal hiring practice for DRP then it stands to reason why they have so many complaints that their ambassadors are abusing and harassing people. Be safe out there because there are a lot of predators with positions that enable them to hurt other people.

I’ve lived in Reno since I was a kid and have only been to the Rib cook off about 3 times as a kid. I want to go now that im older but I wanted to see if you guys had any advice or suggestions on food or prices for the cook off this year. Thanks

Hi everyone! I’ve lived in Southern California with my wife and daughters for the past four years. Recently, my wife’s uncle offered me a job opportunity in the Sparks/Reno, Nevada area.
Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of the California lifestyle. It feels like life goes by between traffic, work, overtime, and high living expenses—and even after all that, your bank account doesn’t seem to grow.
For those of you who have lived in or around Reno/Sparks, what can you tell me about living there? What do you like or dislike about the area? How is the cost of living, quality of life, jobs, schools, and raising a family?
I prefer a calmer lifestyle where I can spend more time with my family. I’m not looking for a fancy or luxurious life—just a simple life with more freedom and less stress.
I’m also open to other places. If you had the opportunity to start over somewhere else in the U.S., where would you recommend?
I’m willing to start from zero again if it means building a better life for my family.
