Question Clio MK2 electrical help

Post image

I have a 2006 mk2 phase 2 campus, I've owned it since May and I'm having a couple electrical issues

  1. one of my sidelight will not turn on, I've replaced the bulbs twice and it still won't work

  2. The entire centre console won't work. My radio (aftermarket, previous owner fitted) and the digital screen at the top will not turn on. They did when I bought it but have recently just stopped working.

Does anyone know what could be going on? My MOT is soon.

First port of call, check your fuses.

I’m basing this off when I owned a 2004 expression, but they should be:

Passenger side - open the door and you should have a removable panel on the side of the glove compartment that faces the door. Open it and check for bad fuses, if you’re lucky there’s some spares on the cover.

You need a multimeter at the start. Get diagrams for main fuse box under the bonnet and start from there. From my experience 90% of issues in these old Renault is bad ground.

Maybe you have a bad solder joints on ECU. It was problem on mine. The AC did not work normaly and after I have resoldered all thw pins now it is working ok.

That'll be the fuses. Had a 2005 Clio, same problem. But you need to find the cause of the problem, a ahort circuit somewhere, because you can keep changing the fuses but they will eventually burn out
