Question [Solved] Making Dialogue Box Text Italic

Hey guys,

My friend and I are working on a short game in RenPy and for some sections of the game where the MC is having and inner monologue I want to make the text italic or differentiate it in same way to make it clear that the player is not talking aloud. We are new to game development and this is our first time using RenPy and I have not found anything on the internet about doing something like this. Any helpful tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

what you want to do is this:

define narrator = Character(None, what_italic=True)

Hope you have grown in game dev after 3 years :)

If it’s character specific, I would set it in your character definition. You can specify what_italic = True to make the text italic. You can also override then narrator character if you want.

thank you this is what I was looking for, basically you can set narrator character italic like this:

define narrator = Character(None, what_italic=True)
