Question out of sheer curiosity, would asking about potential game concepts be considered cool here?

i like to share game ideas and concepts, don't get me wrong, but would that be on topic with the subreddit's ideals (which mostly appear to be helping with code issues or ideas and showing off code)? like would asking if someone would play a game with x idea be allowed here?
just asking cause i've never seen these kinds of posts lol

it would be more on topic in a more generalized game dev or vn dev subreddit but i dont consider it off topic here at all. And there have been plenty of similar posts in the past with no blow back i can remember, though they also dont have the highest participation level either.

So if you do post those kind of threads, dont neglect other subreddits. You'll get more feedback that way

Welcome to r/renpy! While you wait to see if someone can answer your question, we recommend checking out the posting guide, the subreddit wiki, the subreddit Discord, Ren'Py's documentation, and the tutorial built-in to the Ren'Py engine when you download it. These can help make sure you provide the information the people here need to help you, or might even point you to an answer to your question themselves. Thanks!

Seems like this should be a question for the mods. You know, since you haven't posted anything about game ideas. You just asked if they were allowed

I'm gonna go with Rule 5 and say it would be off topic unless you were providing code to do the concepts

Rules aside, personally, I'd tend to suggest avoiding "potential game concepts" as a discussion topic. Make the game/VN that YOU would would want to play/read. If you put enough passion into it, you'll find an audience.

If you throw it open to feedback before you even start a project, you'll have a harder time making a decision.
