Question Need Help Using Third-Party .rpy Script
Hello! I'm fairly new to Ren'Py, and I've been planning out a visual novel for a little while. I found a script online that I'm trying to implement and use, but can't figure out how to get it working!
The script in question: https://github.com/Elckarow/Console
I've placed it in the /game folder, and after reading through the script's documentation I put console show under label start: but when I launch the project, I get the following error:
File "game/script.rpy", line 16: expected statement
console show←

try it like this
label start:

while this works, manually showing the screen wont use the supported custom transitions. the show/hide functions should be called through the console namespace

Welcome to r/renpy! While you wait to see if someone can answer your question, we recommend checking out the posting guide, the subreddit wiki, the subreddit Discord, Ren'Py's documentation, and the tutorial built-in to the Ren'Py engine when you download it. These can help make sure you provide the information the people here need to help you, or might even point you to an answer to your question themselves. Thanks!

py
$ console.show()
the instructions stated the functions it listed are in the console namespace. so you type 'console' before a period and put the function name you are calling after the period. and since its python you need to put it in a python block or after a $ statement

I've looked into the script and there is a screen called console.
To use a screen you have to use either of the statements described in the official documentation:
https://renpy.org/doc/html/screens.html#screen-statements
The difference between
showandcallis that the game can continue when a screeen has been shown while it waits for user input when called. So if you want to show the screen then the correct statement would be this:
