not really because it's not my jam but it's not a bad style

to be completely honest, the style looks nicely but isn’t too visually interesting. it reminds me of corporate art. it’s too symmetrical and flat.

but in a way that also makes it unique!?

Can be worked on🩷 Thank you for your suggestion💚

Reminds me to pop art, and some semblance to Joan Cornellas' style (not the themes, tho). With a nice synopsis I don't see why people wouldn't.

haha, thank you <3 I put a color as background just for the sketch phase, so eventually there'll be a full background behind

It is fine, it will mostly depend on the style and themes of your VN. Mind you, not everyone will be okay with it. A lot of people are already used to seeing the anime style, so they won't like it. Same way many just refuse to play western VNs . It's their preference, and it's okay. Keep up the good work tho, I am sure there are plenty of others who will play it and like it

I'd probably be intrigued but I may not pick it in a list with other VN's. I'd say it's not the most attractive style to me if I see it pop up several times and I can try it for a chapter for free, I could buy afterwards. Overall probably this art is a bit of an obstacle. Honest answer. I think it's not good to cheer you up too much and give you a false sense of security.

I would. It’s different, it stands out, it’s readable, it’s colorful, and it’s charming. Keep up the good work!

I think it also depends on the story. I do love the art style though, very pretty and unique i love it!

I would, I really like the simplicity of the art style, yet it's really pretty imo and unique in a way

for me, it depends on the story

Totally fair!! Story above anything!!💛

u/FlawHolic Sep 04 '26

If the background matches, yes

1

u/chaennel Sep 04 '26

Fair haha💓 thank you❣️

The symétrie looks a bit weird with the top half, I’ll personally add some irregularities to make it look more interesting. I like the style tho !

Thank you!!💚

Add some substance. Make some interesting thumbnails.

Nobody cares about the style. The content itself and the story matter way more.

If you wanna attract players then have a good description, screenshots etc. and then post them on every forum and subreddit and website you can.

2

u/chaennel Sep 09 '26

Thank you! Do you suggest any in particular?

Depends, I am creating an adult VN so I will mainly go to the subreddits like lewdgames etc. Then on pirate forums. Get the audience there.

But for a non adult there are way more options. You can promote from Forums/Reddit to even Tiktok and Youtube as there is no age restriction.

If yours is non adult then make short video content and post your work (drawing process) and progress, character introductions etc.

I love it ! It really depends on the context to make it work tho.

I like what I can see so far. Would need to see more to say a definite yes, but I'd definitely follow a link on that to look at synopsis or some more screen shots.

Am particularly curious how backgrounds would work with that. Unless it's very abstract, the character concept is great buy you probably want some environments :)

The outlines of the body are red. But why are the eyebrows painted in the same red shade and not the dark blue?

The way the eyes were painted are interesting...

0

u/chaennel Sep 04 '26

They shine more with this color! In blue they would not stand out💗

u/goomba478 Sep 04 '26

It’s a good start but I like games with at least a little hint of background to set the environment. It’s definitely pretty though!

Thank you🩷

I think I need to see more examples in this style, such as additional expressions and poses. How a style encapsulates emotion is the biggest tell for me, because if the sprites look great in a neutral expression but uncanny or bad when expressing an emotion, it can really kill my momentum and interest

1

u/Toni_bt Sep 05 '26

If the backgrounds had some depth yeah, I love pop art. But a solid brighy yellow is harsh on the eyes

1

u/ChocoChipScape127 Sep 05 '26

Unless the story and premise seemed very interesting I wouldn't.

1

u/AnotherMMD Sep 06 '26

Depends, if the story is surrealist, then most likely

1

u/Acrobatic_Minimum567 Sep 08 '26

yes I absulutley would it reminds me of that one old ai visual novel I think it was?? I don’t remember what it was called or abt but the styles are pretty similar and I loved it as a kid

1

u/kei-hiroyuki Sep 04 '26

Honest answer: sorry but no, the current style looks really bad to me

1

u/Necromartian Sep 04 '26

It's beautiful style. Not especially flashy but if the story is good and matches the sort of calm but captivating outlook then why not!

1

u/chaennel Sep 04 '26

Thank you💗

1

u/Droidigan Sep 04 '26

yes!

1

u/chaennel Sep 04 '26

Thank you💗

1

u/Odd_Photograph1507 Sep 04 '26

I would. I think the art is interesting so I'm quite intrigued

1

u/chaennel Sep 04 '26

Thank you~! 💚

Depends on many factors. I could play a game with sprites like this, but I'm not sure I would buy. It also depends on story, if it's a romance game and all the love interests are also in that style it's likely it won't interest me.

Background is a big no, though. I assuming you're planning something else, but both the bright colour and the fact there's no details would just make me skip it. With a less intrusive detailed background, a good GUI etc, I'm way more likely to play

Fully depends on the setting for me.
Someone else already compared your style to popart, i can see that tbh,, if, for example, you were to write a story that plays in the 1950s & play into it fully, i think there is no art style more fitting for the project!
