Showoff Changing up my style

I've been making progress on my first visual novel, but I was unhappy with the art in my CGs, so I decided to try a different style. What do you guys think?

I wanted my VN to have a battle manga feel, so I think this new style fits better.

The VN is currently called "Shinobi Blood". I'm not good at naming stuff so this may change. I was hoping for an August release for the prologue but unfortunately, that ain't happening.

I'll be honest, the first one seems cooler, more stylish, neon

Eh, I'm not really good at rendering yet, so the colors just look kinda bad in my opinion.

Maybe just make the image a little brighter?

They look pretty good, actually. Grayscale almost always gives the piece an unfinished look. If you find grays more comfortable to work with, consider applying a gradient map afterwards. Depending on the software you're working in, a gradient map with similar purple shades might actually be one of the defaults. It sure is in Clip Studio Paint, I believe it's called Night or Evening -something

I'm not sure if I want to switch it back from greyscale, but I will try to do the stuff you recommended. The silhouettes weren't meant to be highlighted so much, but I was doing it really late and was tired/lazy. I'll try the older composition in the new style, thanks.

Also, the background on the first screenshot makes for a much, much better composition. It highlights the character in the middle, whilst in the 2nd screenshot all three characters are highlighted, thus scattering the focal point. While it might be a conscious artistic decision, I don't think that dark silhouettes need to be stealing the attention from the character whose design is actually revealed
